I have a 2yr old son who has been taking off his diaper at night. This has become a real problem. We end up getting up in the morning to changing him and his wet bed. We have tried putting his diaper on backwords, tapeing it, and even super glueing the flapps down. But, he still finds a way to pull it off. We are lost on ideas to keep the diaper on. Please help!
I got everyone's responses! Thank you all! Yes,I have noticed that every diaper has been wet when he has taken it off. He does not do it during the day though. Do they usually start out at night doing this, or does it just depend on the kid? A lot of you mentioned that he might be ready to be potty trained. You don't think that he is too young for this? I heard that if you try to early it backfires. How old were your children when you potty trained them? How did it go when you started potty training your children? Did it work better with a little potty or the thing that goes of over the toilet?
Try finding a onesie that you can put on under his pj's, or just use it with a pair of pants. I think I've seen them up to size 3T or so. If that doesn't work, maybe try using pullups at night. Hopefully it will confuse him since there are no tabs to undo.

I wonder if your son is signaling you that he is ready to be potty trained? Do you know if he is pulling those diapers off early in the night...or later...after they are wet and bothering him?
I think I would look at this as an opportunity...and start telling him that he obviously doesnt like wearing his diaper so it is time for him to start using the "big boy potty"...I bet you have him potty trained in a flash!!!!
Whoooo Hooooo!!!!!

Crazy as it sounds I'd recommend trying to ask him why he's doing it...he may have a logical reason in his mind. Just remember to stay calm when having the conversation.
It's possible you can trick him...as if he's interested in wearing "big boy" pants and see if he'll take to some goodnight pull ups. They may make him feel more important (remember they all want to be older than they are).
Other than that, I second the difficult items to take off...onesies or footed pjs. Could it be that he feels that he is hot and that's why he's taking it off? Because the cool air feels better? Just a thought. Good luck.

Find some feetie pjs, or non feetie ones and put them on backwards. It may just help. Make sure it has a zipper instead of snaps.
