Is My Baby Sweating?

Hi, I have a newborn son that is one week old. I have two girls as well, but this is my first boy. Several times this week when I've gotten up to feed him in the middle of the night, his swaddle blanket is wet, the sheet under him wet, all in the mid to small of the back region. It can't be his diaper leaking, but this never happened with my daughters so I'm not sure why it's happening. I don't think he's too warm, but it seems like he's sweating, which I didn't think newborn babies really did. I can't really dress him in less, he's already in just a onesie and light cotton wrap. Is this normal? Thanks for any feedback.

What can I do next?

Newborns can't shivver when they get too cold (hence why they have brown fat), but they CAN sweat when they get too hot.

Don't want to alarm you, but have you had his heart checked. The odds of this are really low, but my friend had a baby who was sweating and it was due to a heart problem. He was working so hard just to circulate his blood that it was making him sweat. Again, I am not a doctor and this is most likely not the case. But I thought I would send it as a heads up, just in case.
PS He was sweating at all times of the day, not just at night. Maybe your guy is just hot.

are you sure it's not a diaper leak? If you don't put their little wee wee down it' will come out the top of the diaper.

My son was a sweater! He's almost 7 and he still sweats at night. Make sure his room has a little circulation--maybe a cool mist humidifier? Bonus to that is the white noise.
