A 49er's cake might be easier!
hello, i'm trying to figure out a way to create a birthday cake for an adult. he likes the raiders so i was thinking to somehow frost on the raider emblem on the cake, but i don't know how. i was thinking to use wax paper and put the picture under that and trace the picture with frosting and then maybe put it in the freezer and try to take it off of the wax paper? what do you think? do you think the frosting will come off of the wax paper????? i would do a test run, but what if that doesn't work? what do i do next?? i was thinking to just buy an edible raider emblem that they sell on the internet, but the bday is this weekend and i don't think it will ship that quick, plus a lil short on money. then my husband suggested that i try using a toothpick to try to free hand the picture, but i think it will just turn out horrible!!! please help!!

Hi M.,
I would suggest a Raiders inspired design. The Raider guy isn't something I would personally try to attempt. At grocery stores, Michaels and any store with cake decorating you can get spray paint for cakes.
How about spraying the cake top black. Use silver squeeze icing in a tube (grocery store...) to draw a shield. In the shield use the silver and write "Happy Birthday so-and-so." Add black and silver cups, napkins etc. You could also spray paint the shield silver (cut a shield shaped hole in wax paper, lay it gently on the cake and spray). To give the cake a finished look, I would use the silver again (or black tube icing) to make a line around the entire top edge of the cake and also along where the cake meets the plate.
If there is a party store near you like Party America (I'm not familiar with your area) they might actually have Raiders stuff you could put on the cake or use for decorations.
Good luck.
They have different types of cake molds and stencils here at our local craft store...if there is a "Michaels" in your area check there, they might have what you need.Happy baking!:)
I can't even think of the raider emblem; however, one thing I have done is, print out the emblem, make a stencil out of it and lightly dusting the cake with powdered sugar so you can see where the lines are supposed to be for frosting your design.
Good luck,
I hope it turns out.
