It's time to give sleep it's own spot on the subcategory list for mamasource. This request is to learn from you how you have dealt with sleep debt created by family demands, sick kids, busy schedules, and your own insomnia.

Please let me know when the book comes out because I need it. I haven't slept since my daughter was born (Jan 2007). It's taken a huge toll on my physical appearance, brain function, and social life. My mantra is "someday I'll sleep". :)

uuuhhggg...Tell me about it. I used to sleep AWFUL! Key word here is USED TO...I have been taking "MONAVIE" for about 2 months and I sleep almost 6 to 7 hours straight without waking up! There have been very few people that are on it that say they don't sleep any different. The high antioxident juice creates oxygen in your body so you are able to sleep the way you were made to sleep. :) Maybe you have heard of it. If not, e-mail me and I will give you a link to look it up!

I'm not. I am trying desperately to get off the sleeping pills I've been taking for the past 3 yrs. But just can't because I'm scared to not fall asleep (even if I know I'll be getting up at least a couple times in the night). We've got a 2 yr old and a 3 yr old and my husband snores. So each night I take a unisom, put ear plugs in and still manage to wake up to the slightest cough or bump in the night. I'm convinced it is some maternal superpower that keeps me ready for anything at night, but also absolutely interferes with that sacred and coveted 8 hrs uninterrupted sleep. I'd love to find a way! Good luck with the book- I'll watch for it :)

My husband and I got a bigger bed! It's also a really good matress (no motion transferrence). That was key for me. The other thing is that eventhough my kids is almost 2, I still sleep when she is sleeping if I need it, and I don't feel guilty about it! I also make sure I eat right and exercize which I think are essential to being and feeling healthy. Oh, and loosing a bit of weight helped too (I've lost about 45 lbs in the last year, and it has changed my life in more ways than one).
