I bought my husband a fancy coffee maker for Christmas and its a NIGHTMARE.... messy, leaky, cleanup is no fun at all, as you practically have to get the manuel out to reload it. Can anyone recommend a coffee maker that grinds, is programable and holds at least 12 cups?

What can I do next?

Hi I had to laugh when I read this, it's not just me. I have a Cuisinart that came so highly recommended and i HATE it. It is POSSESSED! I would GIVE this coffee maker away but I can't in good conscience ;-) So I went out and bought a cheapy Black and Decker and the coffee always tastes burned. I hate to keep Starbuck's profit levels up but mama needs my coffee! I can't wait to see the responses.

I have used the Cuisinart Grind and Brew for three years and love it. No problems, easy to operate and program. It's priced right and makes consistantly wonderful coffee. If you purchase it from Macy's, you can return it if you do not like it!

I have a Mr. Coffee, it doesn't grind, but it is programmable, easy to clean and has never burned my coffee, I love it! GOOD LUCK!

I LOVE MY CUISINART!

You can buy the model that fulfills all your requirements. I have one, my parents, cousin, sister-in-law, and our house in Tahoe! We have different models, some including the grider, and no one has had problems or "possessions" that I know of. No leaks, drips, dribbles, anything. I got mine on sale at Kohls, although they're at Macy's and everywhere. LOVE IT!

We have a Graves Hamilton Beach coffee maker from Target that's the best we've ever owned. It doesn't grind coffee or have fancy features, though. My experience is that the machines that do those things ultimately end up with big problems. We had two pricey fancy ones that just plain stopped working (the Cuisinart one would just stop a couple cups into the brew process and we'd have to repeatedly go in and restart it). Check the reviews on the Target site on the Graves one ... that's how we selected it because people liked it so much. It really does brew a nice cup of coffee and the spout pours without making a mess, too. The only downside is the design is a little funky, but you get used to it.

Things only last in my house if they are easy to use, sturdy and easy to clean. Where does that leave the kids?...

For pots of coffee, I use the Hamilton Beach BrewStation. It comes in many models including programmable. I don't know if any of them grind. It's the kind that you push your mug up against to fill.

For fancy lattes I have a Cuisinart Espresso Maker which I LOVE. I buy Starbucks ground coffee at Winco along with a bottle of Vanilla syrup. I've tried other coffee brands too with much success. I've hardly been to Starbucks since. A true aficionado would be able to make all the different coffee beverages on this... I only make lattes.

Hmmm... I'm thirsty now... good luck!

I also recommend the Cuisinart and I am really fond of it!
If you want a grinder and brewer in one, try their DGB-600BC Grind & Brew Thermal 10-cup Automatic Coffee Maker though it can hold up to 10 cups of coffee. But if you want more cups, try go for the DCC-1000 Programmable Filter Brew 12-cup Coffee Maker. Both coffee makers from Cuisinart are programmable and are easy to use.
I'm loyal to Cuisinart so I have both of it which I purchased on http://allbestcoffeemakers.com.
