iPad 2, Love It or Hate It?

Is it worth the money, or should I just get a new laptop? Is there anything about yours that you dislike or have had issues with? I don't know much about them, but my husband seems to think I would love one since I love my ipod touch and all of the apps I can put on it. I have looked a little and decided on the Wifi model if I get one. Thanks!

What can I do next?

DO NOT get it in place of a laptop. That'll be your biggest mistake. They are amazing (best invention ever) but they just don't replace a laptop long term. We have one for my husband to take on base when he's working (he has to stay over 2-3 days at a time) and he uses it for that purpose but only then (all other times we use it for an iPad). They're awesome but if you need a laptop, get a macbook. Yeah, it's more expensive but I've had mine for almost 5 years and it still runs like it did the day I opened the box.

iPads are great. We have one. As well as the iTouch and iPhone etc.
But it is distinctly different, than a lap top "computer."
iPads are great for web surfing and playing games/apps and doing e-mail and other organizing things.

An iPad is a fun thing that can also do some of the tasks of your laptop, but it does not replace a laptop. It lacks a physical keyboard, USB ports, and multitasking which are common things with any laptop. And a laptop is more flexible and compatible with other hardware and software.
Versus an iPad, functions via apps.

The thing is, if you are just using it for light fun things, and internet surfing and chatting, its fine. And fun for games.
But if you do a lot of work on a computer and multitasking and need heavier programs and applications, then an iPad would not do that.

LOVE my iPad 2! However, it did not replace my laptop. It is awesome for the fun stuff and great to bring by itself if traveling for a few days, but I don't use it for typing long emails, working on documents, etc. If you have another desktop or laptop in your home, then the iPad would be a great addition.

Love my iPad2. I use it for my bedroom computer. I do retain use of my laptop, however, for writing letters and Excel type work. I have thought though, that when I replace my laptop, I won't buy the top-of-the-line as I have in the past, as I don't use the laptop as much as I used to since getting the iPad.

The Facetime feature is wonderful if you have children and relatives that don't live in the same city. Also for travel, the iPad can't be beat. My 4 yr old watches her Netflix videos on it, we have e-coloring books and games for when we are waiting in airports. It has been worth every penny I paid.
