My hubby won an Ipad at work and is giving it to me. Do any of you have any favorite apps that you'd recommend? Any useful apps to have with a 3 yr old and 8 (almost 9) yr old in the house?

What can I do next?

Is that the one with the mosquito and rainstick app? My daughter says kids in school have the iPad, iWhathaveyous and they always have the mosquito noise. Her teacher actually had the rainstick.

My new favorite is Shazam, it's worth the $4.99 to get more than 3 songs a month. You hole the IPad up to a speaker, could be in the car or TV or stereo and it will tell you the name and artist of the song playing. I love it.

If I were to buy one, I want the constellation one, where you point it at the sky and it will tell you what stars and constellation you are looking at...I think that sounds like a fun camping activity!

There are two awesome apps by Montessorium. Intro to Math and Intro to Letters. They are fun, cool, and educational. Even *I* like playing them. They're probably better for your younger child, but your older child might like them, too.
