My husband and I are going to have invitro done. I have changed doctors and have not yet had my invitro consultation. We have done two IUIs unsuccessfully. Do you know when the doctor starts the prep for invitro? Is it after you start your period? I have looked on the internet have read about the procedure but it does not state when they begin the process. I am just curious! Thanks for your help!

What can I do next?

Hi S., I went through IVF last year at this time. I was a patient of DR. Barnett's at Presby Plano. (I had B/G twins in July)If you consult with him and he wants to have you to go forward with IVF he has all couples go to a seminar about IVF and how the procedure is done. It is through the ARTS lab at Presby Plano. We walked away from it with a greater understanding of what was ahead of us and while we were in the process we understood what our goals were for the embryos. A book I read and felt like it was my best friend was THE INFERTILITY SURVIVAL HANDBOOKBy Elizabeth Faulk. Good Luck to you.

Hi S.,

I went to Dr Douglas at Medical Center of Plano and he did my invitro at Presby Plano. I also know someone who went to Dr Barnett and became pregnant. I had my son July 2005 after our first attempt and I was 40. I do agree that he is the best. Everyone I know that has gone to him has become pregnant. We plan on visiting him again after the holidays. He usually starts you on BC pills to regulate your cycle and then goes from there. I wish you the best of luck.

You will most likely start on day one of your period as that is considered day one of your cycle and thus day one of the process.

Hi S.!

I encourage you to talk to other TTC patients! It has been about 3 years for me and I went through 6 IUI's 2 IVF's before I had my son in 2003. Not alot has changed, but it is really based on your individualy because it all depends on your diagnosis as to why you are having problems TTC. My DX was "unexplained infertility" and Angela (who responded to you)she seems to be going thru it now with Dr. Rodriguez at Presby and I have heard of him and he is pretty good. The guru of Infertility though is Dr. James Douglas! If he can't get you prego, no one can!! He is at MCP and then does the IVP at Presby Plano.

It really all depends on where you are in your journey through this long and drawn out process of Infertility! I started with my own OB since she dabbled in Infertility, but then had to move on to the Endocrinologist.

What does your OB say or are you seeing a speciliast?

You can email me and I can give you lots of info and send you to several support groups as well.

Good Luck!

I did invitro to get my son- it worked the first time. We used Dr. Barnett(Plano) ###-###-####, at the time(three years ago) he was rated #1 in the state. You also want to look at the success rate of the hospital where the procedure is done because they also get rated. Pres. Plano is where we had it done and they also were ranked #1 for thier ARTS division.
Hope that helps good luck and I will keep you in my thoughts and prayers.
