What are some REALLY good questions to ask when interviewing a dare care provider? Anything we should look out for in answer that would be a good sign or throw up a red flag?

TIA!

What can I do next?

Are they licensed?
What are their disciplining techniques?
Ask about the other kids in their care.
Go and visit during the day when they have children there to see the interaction. Do not ask alot of questions this day just observe her with your child and the others in her care.
Ask for references and use them, make sure they are clients or former clients.
Ask what she would do in an emergency, if someone gets hurt or if there is a fire.
She should have well prepared answers for these questions.
I hope this helps!

What holidays is she closed (school holidays, personal vacation)?

What backup is available if the providers are ill?

What is her parent drop by policy?

If she has helpers, has background checks been done?

My child is 13 so this is the list of questions I can remember from way back then.

Good luck!

Hi J.,

I have several checklist I could fax-mail or e-mail to you. Using the "quality checklist" you could see what qualifications you should look for and formulate questions around the checklist. Let me know if you're interested in the checklist. I am also a licensed provider in (Churchill Club) Oswego and I love when parents have interview questions because it lets me know that they truly invested in the well-being and educational standards of their child(ren) (sometimes we ask more questions when buying a car :) so kudos to you for doing your due diligence!

My e-mail address is: ____@____.com and I will reply with the checklists if anyone is interested

Have a Happy Day!!!
