For me the worst thing I can do is stay in bed and toss and turn. Everyone has different types of activities that they find relaxing. For me, often watching tv helps, what I refer to as mindless tv, a sitcom (Nick at Nite). Sometimes reading helps, but it can't be something over stimulating. If you like tea, try a cup of herbal tea before bed.

Two things that have worked for my insomnia that are natural, and you can find them both over the counter in any pharmacy is Velarian and Melatonin. Two different pills, both for the same thing. Velarian is stronger than Melatonin, so I useally use the later first to see if it works for me, if not I use the velarian.

I would ask your doctor first just to be sure it is ok for you but they are both natural. Melatonin is found in milk, thats why people always said, drink warm milk before you go to bed, warming the milk hightens the melatonin, which helps you sleep better. You can always try that as well.

Good Luck,

Take calcium before bed. It should help increase the saratonin which is the hormone your body releases to help you fall asleep. Not just that but right now, since your breastfeeding, the majority of calcium you take in goes to your baby and the production of breast milk.

yes,

don't drink any thing with caffiene, no sugars, ect..

turn on the tv to something dark, and light and fluffy
like everybody loves raymond, watch it for about 30 minutes, and then lower the volume as low as you can , while still being able to hear it,

this will help relax your mind,

the trick is NOT thinking about everything ON YOUR MIND, but on the TV,

You can either sleep with the TV on or program it to turn off on its own.

Trust me this really helps
