Isopropyl alcohol dissolves ink. Sometimes you have to let it soak in a bowl of it to dissolve it enough. Make sure the fabric is colorfast. Hairspray usually contains alcohol so that's why it works. It works on skin too.
My husband is a teacher and had an inkpen burst in his pants pocket today. Does anyone know a remedy or product that will remove ballpoint pen ink from clothing? I know hairspray usually works best- any recommended brands? Any home remedies??
Please email me at ____@____.com with any tips. (He also has it on his skin, if you have tips for that.)
Thanks!

Aqua Net aerosol for sure!
GOOP!(found at Jewel or Dominicks) I seriously use it on all my stains for cottons and all other washables. Rub it in with a toothbrush(gently) and let it sit overnight. Wash in warmest temp. repeat if nec. It really works! Also, it takes out grease stains and old food stains, even if you accidently dried. REMEMBER to let it sit a whole day or overnight before washing. It it made to remove automobile grease from hands and clothing, so try it on his skin too. Let me know how it worked for you.
My husband ALWAYS gets ink in his pants(and on our laundry) for forgetting about pens in his pants pockets! I use Suave hairspray--the pump kind, not aerosal, and it take a while of scrubbing it in and constantly rinsing and spraying more on to get it out. Good Luck!
One of my students parents said she used off bug spray to remove ink from her daughters white coat.
