A natural way to cure it is to eat yogurt- the more probiotics you can get, the better. There is a new drinkable Dannon yogurt that has lots of active cultures in it.

Also, you can put PLAIN yogurt on you externally like an ointment if you wish to soothe the itching.

Another thing you can do is to go without panties so you can "air out." In fact, my mother works in an assisted living unit and none of her lady residents wear panties to bed. This shocked her when she first started working there because they were so prim and proper but she soon learned that they did it so they would not get yeast infections! It's an old home remedy (or prevention!)

I also had a yeast prob while I was pregnant and was on Diflucan for it. Don't hesitate to call and ask for a prescription if you need one.

Good luck!
Amanda

You can use regular Monistat (not monistat 1). Like a previous poster said you can also get rid of it naturally with yogurt.

Diflucan is not recommended during pregnancy, so I would probably decline that if your doc offers it. Also, if you end up with antibiotics again I would try taking probiotics at the same time to avoid this.

This happened to me on 2 occasions during my pregnancy. I too had to take oral antibiotics and immediately got a yeast infection. While you are not able to take Diflucan for this, you are able to use Monistat. I would recommend the internal and external cream to help.

IF you still feel uncomfortable, I would DEFINATELY page your doctor but this is what my doctor recommended.

Good luck. Sounds like you have your hands full.

I had several yeast infections while I was pregnant. I was put on both over the counter and prescription infection cremes...and both the internal and external kinds. However, before you do anything, PAGE your doctor. They are so used to answering pages because things that happen during pregnancy can't wait.

Also, I was told that you would have to eat gallons and gallons worth of yogurt to make any difference. Plus, I wouldn't wait that long. An infection that prolongs can be harmful in other ways, so I wouldn't wait....CALL.

CALL YOUR DOCTOR! And don't worry a thing about bothering them. This is what you are paying them for. And you never know what is ok and not ok to do during a pregnancy. The rules never cease to surprise me. If you're really concerned about bothering the doctors, just explain that you hestitate to bother them but that you're uncomfortable and unsure what's appropriate to take over-the-counter because of the pregnancy. And if the doctor is rude to you about it, it's time to switch doctors. This is their job. Call now!
