My daughter had a yeast infection under her arm, My dr. told us to get an over the counter athlete foot medicine. Since athlete foot is a form of a fungal infection too. I've used it several times since and it works!
Good luck!
Hello,
My 6 month old has a yeast infection that just will not go way. I have applied some loprox per the Dr and also some nystop power however it seems to be coming back it been a week now and she is of course very uncomfortable. It seems that the potty is the carrier of the infection so every time she poop it very red and pimples... we change her diaper every 2 hours and.. i need some suggestion what else to do to help this infection go way..

Hello SJ,
I feel for you and your little one... and I can tell you that in my experience Yeast infections are caused by bacterial imbalances in the digestive tract. What is she eatting, and has it changed recently?? If it was my little one I would give her a Probiotic supplement for infants. You can find this at your local health food store ie. "Whole Foods Market"
in the vitamen section. Ask your doctor, of course, if you have any concerns. Also I agree with more diaper free time until this clears up.
I wish for your little angel a speedy recovery!!
Use Monistat cream on her at every diaper change.
If you are nursing, eat less sugar and take a live Acidophilus (2 billion CFU/g) supplement three times a day.
If she is eating formula you can mix the acidophilus in with her formula.
Take her diaper off and sun her girl parts a couple times a day for 5 minutes.
Let her go in a cloth diaper with no plastic pants a couple hours a day. Just make sure to change her as soon as she wets/poos.
Antibiotic cream will worsen a yeast infection as will taking oral antibiotics.
(If you are nursing and take or have taken antibiotics or if she has/is taking them)
Can you possibly let her go diaperless several times a day in a warm area and let her bottom just hang out? I had a friend whose daughter had chronic diaper rash and that was the cure. Also perhaps changing her hourly. My son had diarrhea when he was about 14 months old and thank goodness it was the summer so the doctor told me to let his bottom hang out in the fresh air. He had raw patches the size of quarters on his bottom and after a couple of days of going outside for an hour at a time (in the shade!) and just letting everything get dry and refreshed, it healed up amazingly. In your daughter's case, if this has been going on for over a couple of weeks, you need to have her checked for a systemic problem such as diabetes, because yeast infections can indicate some kind of immune problem. I am a diabetic and I have to keep myself very dry in areas where the skin rubs or gets wet or I get yeast infections. I use a hair dryer on low after showers to make sure everywhere is dry. You could also try this technique on your daughter if you have a blow dryer that has a cool setting so as not to cause burns. But if this has been going on for weeks, I would get a second opinion FROM ANOTHER DOCTOR. I think there may be another problem going on here if simple measures like going diaperless and hair dryers don't work. Good luck.
Feed her some baby yogurt..........Neosporian ointment and some cornstarch on the rash works great!!!
I know this sounds strange but anti fungal foot cream. I swear by it. My friend is a nurse and told me about it and it has always cleared it up. I was scared to use it and weirded out by it for the longest time but it really works. I just bought the store brand kind and it really worked!
My friend's kids seem to be prone to yeast infections. He dr. told her to use one of the medications that women use for yeast infections and to cover that with a thick layer of desitin, the original thick, goopy one. Also, ask you dr. about Silvadene. You can only get it by a perscription and I believe it is a sulpha derivative. Obviously, do your own research and ask your dr about any of these. There may be some good more natural remedies out there if that is important to you.

Sj: I guess it may be that i'm half alsleep this morning, but, your request suggested that you are attempting to potty train your 6month old.Shes to young to expect to potty train.I have never heard of anyone catching A yeast infection off a potty.I do know, that yeast infections thrive on dampness. The important thing is to make sure you change her often, and keep her diaper loose not tight,so air can get to that area infected. It may not even be a bad idea, to let her keep her diaper off for a short time inbetween. If the medication doesn't seem to be working, I'd ask her Dr. for something else,or get a good over the counter yeast medication.Hope your baby is feeling better soon.
ask your pediatrician for a sample / prescription of Vusion ointment. it's amazing! It wiped out my daughters horrible yeast infection / rash when nothing else worked.
My 3 month old son had the same thing. It was on his neck. I thought his neck was just irritated from the moisture. He's chubby so his chin touches his neck. It ended up being a yeast infection. My doctor recommended anti fungal cream. It went away the next day. I was told that yeast infections occur from excessive moisture. I know it's been chilly and you probably have the heater on. I would use a humidifier in your room as well. Good luck!

If you're breast feeding and you're taking any meds or eating something weird, she may be reacting to that. I've also heard fantastic things about Butt Paste ointment, it works great. I've seen it at the major drug stores.
Good Luck.
