Plano Parks and Recreation offers infant swim classes starting at 6 months for $53-66 at Oak Point Center, Plano Aquatic Center and the Tom Muehlenbeck center. Look at www.planoparks.org
Does any one know of a place in the Plano area that provides swimming/survival lessons for infants at a reasonable price?? I plan on starting lessons for my son when he turns 6 months old.
I ended up registering at the Plano Aquatic Center. Not really what I was looking for but what do you expect when paying 50.00 for 2 weeks. It was mostly older babies between 12-24 months that were taking lessons on how to actually swim. I want my son to learn the survival swim lessons. I do know where they are available now thanks to all your input. I don't know when I'm going to enroll him...we'll see. THANKS

Check out www.infantswim.com. We used them when my son was 7 months old.
we took a class last summer with our twins when they were 6 months old through Allen parks... I was not impressed and they didn't focus on safety... this year we have been taking lessons from mimi connor at aquafit plano. She is awseome and reasonably priced. Her is her site http://www.swimmersbymimi.com/...saftey is the main objective with mimi.
Do you want swim lessons or survival lessons because there is a big difference with little ones. I started both my kids in swim lessons at 6 months and highly recommend them over survival lessons; I know to many parents who's kids developed a fear of the water after survival lessons. In Plano there is Emler Swim (Park & Ohio) and Swim Plus (Parker & Hwy 5). Both are good and offer year round lessons, but Swim Plus is private lessons only.
Check with Emler Swim School on Park/Ohio in Plano.
Try Aqua Tykes and Cindy Clark. I highly recommend her - take a peek at the ____@____.com/cindyclark.htm or email: ____@____.com
Please let her know D. sent you and good luck! This program is amazing.
Sincerely, D.
Emler Swim School in Plano is the best. Both my daughters hae learned to swim there. It is located at the corner of Park and Ohio.
You can find them on the web. They start as early as newborns.
Good luck!

We just registered our 4yo for swim lessons with the Plano YMCA on Tennyson and Preston. Im really impressed with the facility, and they are affordable. They start as young as 6 months. Register soon - if you need evenng classes they are filling fast! www.planoymca.org.
Good luck!
My name is K.. My 2 1/2 yr old son just recently finished his survival swim lessons through ISR (infantswim.com ) and I couldn't believe the results!!! I would recommend these lessons to anyone. When you go onto the website, you can search for certified instructors in your area. There is a registration fee and then it is $75/week. The lessons are 10 min sessions, 5 days/week. Again, I highly recommend that you look into this program.

Most of the pools through the Plano Parks and Recreation offer lessons for babies starting at 6 months. If you have a Plano membership ($60/year for adults...kids under $7 are free) it is good at all of the pools and rec centers. We live up the road from the new Meuhlenbeck Center with an indoor pool, so weather is never an issue. I have not tried the lessons - my kids are older, but with all the pool, you could probably find something that works with your schedule, and the prices are reasonable. www.planoparks.org
Swim Plus off Ave K in Plano does. They're great!
Plano Rec Center. I'm thinking of signing my son up for the water babies class. I think it's between 50-60 for 4-8 classes.
Emler Swim School of Plano @ Park and Ohio
We took swim lessons in Plano at Emler Swim School. Excellent place & they turned my child who was extremely scared of water into a child who could swim across the pool. They are a little pricey, but very good. For the beginner baby classes, you might check out the local YMCA or if you are a member of a gym like Lifetime offers classes. Those two options should cost less. Good Luck & have fun!
