My baby girl (ten months old) is constantly grabbing her head when she cries. She had an ear infection 3-4 weeks ago but was on antibiotics and the doctor says it was healing nicely nearly 2 weeks ago when we went in. Maybe it hurts her head when she cries? She is on albuterol, albuterol for her nebulizer, prednisolone (steroids) and has already finished her antibiotics so maybe it is a side effect of her medication ot have a headache? (I know I don't with my asthma meds but I'm an adult. lol) You think this was my first baby the way I worry about her. LOL!!

What can I do next?

Long ago, when my kids were little, they used to say that if an infant/toddler pulled at or rubbed their ears they might have an ear infection.... (my children were born in the 80's, and one in 1991.... so you know how long ago that info is coming from!)

However, when my kids cried, they tended to rub or hit at their ears! I think it is just where their hands happened to hit......

I really think that sometimes as they cry, their hands/arms flail about, and out of frustration, they just grab onto whatever is nearby.....

I am a chiropractor in San Diego and I have seen many children for ear infections. If she is holding her head when she cries, her body language is trying to tell you something is wrong. Just because the pediatrician doesn't find it, doesn't mean it doesn't exist. Chiropractic is a gentle and effective treatment designed to release the innate wisdom of that baby so healing can occur. There are chiropractors that specialize in infants and babies and that's what you need to seek out. If you need help finding someone I'll be happy to research someone in your area. We ALL worry about each child, no matter if they are the 1st or the 15th, it's just what we do! ;)

I would call the Doc & tell them you are concerned & you want to have her checked again, she just can't tell you what is happening you know. Some steroids can make you have a headache, at least that is what it says on the paperwork, maybe she needs something else or maybe a different dose. It's something the Doc is going to have to check out.

Poor baby, I hope she is better soon! Many healing thoughts sent your way...

I'd get her ears re-checked.
