Sorry to bring up an odd subject... but I'm wondering why my 7 month old baby boy has had an erection all day. It hasn't gone down at all. Every time I change his diaper, it's there! Lol! Is this cause for concern? Anyone else experience this??

What can I do next?

If he's had it all day, then it may be cause for concern. However, is it actually there all day, or does he get an erection everytime you diaper him? Maybe give him some diaper free time if you are not sure. If you're in A/C the cold could cause it when you take off his diaper, or if you happen to be changing him when his bladder is full just before he pees, that could be it too.

It is normal.
Don't worry.
It happens, now and later.

It is just a reaction.
It does not mean anything.

But, if it is ALL day, then call your Pediatrician.
It should go down.
Or maybe you just notice it when you change his diaper, thus you
'think' it is all day?

I don't believe you should be too concerned. My sister has 4 boys, and I am like their second mother. We had a very similar experience with her 2nd child, he was about the same age, maybe a month or two older even. We were noticing it also while changing him, and wondered if maybe he was just irritated, so we took his diaper off for a little while. It was still there for a short time, but eventually went away after we, let him hang loose, so to speak :) I might would try doing that, leave the diaper off for a little bit, keep an eye out for it to go down. I would still call your pediatrician, just to put your mind at ease about what could be causing it, and for sure call if it continues throughout the night or longer. I'm sure everything will be ok though :)

Its normal for little boys to get an erection when you open the diaper--the change of temp and or just urinating is usually why. When you open the diaper, does he still pee the second you open it? I wouldn't worry about it at all--totally normal.

I think the sudden change in temperature when you change the diaper is causing it. Probably when he is nice and warm inside the diaper it goes away.

Well... he probably hasn't had it all day. Changing his diaper means sudden change in temp, and if you're timing it right to just before he has to pee again, either stimulation, or being 'full' could be causing it. Leave his diaper off for an hour and see if it goes down.

Boys (uncut) get erections from day 1. Boys (cut) get erections after the circ has healed (how often do YOU get aroused before your private parts have healed ; birth, yeast infection, etc.). Pain usually short circuits genital arousal, because the pain signals trump the "Oh!" signals

The arousal is completely and totally normal, but it isn't "sexual" arousal, and won't be until puberty hits. The nerve endings are there from birth (girls and boys both play with themselves because it feels good from the time they can get their hands in their diapers, or figure out the 'rocking' motion which presses on them through their diapers).

Boys, in their sleep cycles (from day 1) go through several erectile periods during the different phases of sleep (alpha, delta, theta, rem) AS WELL as appear to be erect when they need to pee (morning wood, colloquially). Girls get the same bloodflow, but it's just not as noticeable.

Boys can do that from birth and probably before as well.
It's perfectly normal.

All day...really? If it has for real been happening all day then I'd call the doctor. Once in a while is normal all though it is kinda freaky, even though it's normal! ;)
