I would look to see when it expires. If you are planning more kids it might make sense to keep it. Most don't expire for 6 years. But if that's not in the plans right now you could post it on freecycle.org or craigslist for free.
We transitioned our son to his toddler car seat and have no idea what to do with his infant seat. It seems like such a waste to just throw it away. I would like to recycle it so does anyone know of good infant seat recycling programs????
Thank you!

Amvets will come pick it up.
Freecycle is a yahoo group that helps people who need things but cant affrod them. Anything from Infant clothes to lawn mowers. Its purpose is to save landfills from stuff like this and someone elses trash is anothers treasure. I use it daily to give away items I dont need and to find things I do. You can find it in your area since each one is designed for each city. Im not sure where youre from so you might want to google it in yout area example Austin texas freecycle group. It truly is a great group of people and you will love it.
Check out www.jbfsale.com You can locate a sale near you and sell your good condition baby items.
if u have a good will around then take it there some one will need it
Freecycle.org it's a great website to get rid of all of your old stuff and not just send it to the dump. If you have a kid to kid in your area you can sell it there if it has not expired or been in an accedient, but you could probably get more for selling it on a classifieds website. Here in Utah we have one of our tv stations running one of the most popular classified ads site. Do you guy's have something like that? Or you could probably donate it to a womens shelter or something like that.
Car seats is a tough issue. You will not be able to donate it to Goodwill, Salvation Army or other places like that because the law does not allow them to resell used car seats.
If your car seat has been in an auto accident, please do not sell it or give it away. Dispose of it. Check to see if the plastic base is recycleable.
If you are done having children, then you could place an ad in the local newspaper, use Craigs List or have a yard sale for all your out grown baby items, or pass it on to a friend who is having a baby.
T.
sell it as long as its never been in an accident.
If its expired, damaged, or been in an accident, then you need to remove the harness and cover, and you can recycle the plastic.
If its not expired and you trust another childs life with it, find a friend or take it to a pregnancy crisis center.
Car seats expire 6yrs from date of manufacture.
