hi i am looking for advice on a good infant car seat or head support. We bought a baby trend car seat and my daughters head always falls forward. We even tried the pillows that look like bananas and go on the sides of her head they did not work. Does anyone know of a remedy or a seat that wont let this happen?
LOL That always happens! Other than the pillows, I don't know of anything. Good thing their necks are like noodles. I hated that too.
We have a Chicco car seat and haven't had any problems. Ours has a bubble leveler on the side so we can make sure that it is at the right angle. There are lots of other kinds with various levels on them to ensure they are good to go, I would get one of those and you'll always know you're good. It's really useful when traveling, renting a car, or riding in someone else's car.
You probably don't have the seat reclined enough. A rear-facing infant seat should pretty much laying down. She'd have to try pretty hard to lift her head up for it to flop forward. Relaxed, it should flop back.
A trip by highway patrol or a fire station to have it checked wouldn't be a bad idea.

infant car seats are pretty well reclined unless you are using a convertible one which those are great for older infants that have head control.
You might want to make sure you have it installed properly before going out and getting a new one. Her head falling over is a sign that the back of the seat is up too high.
Lots of advice to make sure you have the seat properly installed. After you check that out if you still want to buy a new seat I suggest a Chicco Keyfit. My son was always very comfortable in it and I'm planning on using it soon for baby #2.
We have an Xterra and our seats are slanted backwards which made her rear facing seat sit forward too much. It just might not be a good fit with your car.
my daughter did that too and found out that all you had to do was raise the base. There is a lever that you can adjust and it will make the seat recline a little bit more. That solved our problem. Good luck!
Usually this mean the seat is not installed properly. I would go to the fire dept or retailer to get some hands on demonstration on installing the seat.
the seat probably isn't installed right find someone local that will check your seat. Sometimes the fire station does them.
I just wanted to let you know that I have never used an infant car seat that wasn't pretty upright, so it might not be an issue with it not "reclined enough." First thing, I would make sure it is installed properly (fire station etc) but we had the same issue and talked to the pediatrician and fire dept and they said it would not hurt baby and they are still safer like that then if you tried to recline the car seat further or put unnecessary items in the car seat.
