I don't know if it would fit, but we had a cube with a slide for all the kids (from Little Tykes). Or maybe just the slide or a rocker? IKEA sells rockers that a single child can use.
Mamas & Papas-
My DS has a lot of energy and is a thrillseeker. I'm looking for some suggestions for good toys/ equipment that he can use indoors at our apt. At grandma's house he's fashioned his own makeshift toy. He pushed an exercise ball against the sofa, and convinced grandpa to help him stay on top of it while he bounces up a storm. I'd love to get him something to that effect, but purpose built and safer for our apt.
Thanks for your thoughts and suggestions.

Thanks for all your great ideas. We've ordered a hopping ball and a sit and spin. These two are sized so as to be apartment friendly, and should give our little monkey something to expend all that bouncy energy with.
Best to you all as always,

We got a mini trampoline for my grandson. He loved it. I put it in the bedroom by the bed so if he fell off he'd fall on the bed...and of course he'd bounce on the bed too. I don't have issues with that. I did move the furniture to the other side of the room though.
Also a climbing cube from Step II might be good. We had a Kangaroo Climber for a long time, the bedroom it was in was 11.5'X11.5', not huge. It had a twin size bed, several book shelves for toys, and a wide 9 drawer chest of drawers.
The climber was great for the kids until they got to be about 5 or 6. Then it was a bit too young for the older ones. We got ours from out local Sears. They only have appliances, TV's, and lawnmowers but they ordered it for us online. It was on sale for a really low price like $70.
Here's the Step II indoor climbers website:

Sear site has really gone up on their prices so I only put the Step II site.
Below are all things that we did with my active daughter:
Ball-pit (sandbox or one of those cheap kiddie tents you can buy at the drugstore is perfect, then just add tons of balls)
Exercise (mini) trampoline - my daughter will literally just bounce on one of these for half an hour
Ball popper - not the elephant one, the other one
Indoor climber - we bought ours off amazon after reading the different reviews, and had it in our playroom until the kids outgrew it. Don't spend too much because they will outgrow it.
Good luck.
let him drag all the couch cushions off the couch and play lava that was my favorite game when i was a kid
Have you seen those trampolines that are completely surrounded? They are indoor trampolines, and perfect for kids. I am actually thinking of getting one for my son since we moved to Amsterdam (way too much snow and way too much time inside!!)
Does she have something she can push around? Like a mini stroller/ grocery cart/ car or some other toy she can push around your home? My son has this mini Lightning McQueen car that he pushes and rides all over the place when we have an inside day.
Something that doesn't take up alot of space is a ball popper. ALL my daycare kids love this thing. The balls pop out and they chase them all over...repeat. Doesn't burn a ton of energy, but does keep them busy and moving! Mine too love the exercise ball, I'll bring it out once and a while. We also have fun building obstable courses which usually consist of couch cushions and hanging sheets...items you already have and can be put away when done!
how old is he? How about the bouncin zebra

If you have enough room for it , there is a slide from Step 2 . It is so worth it because they are entertained for hours. I think it is about $100 . My kids used theirs for years and didn't want to give it away when they outgrew it :0)
To add to the great suggestions below:
1. If you have the money, get one of the alphabet rugs with the letters on the outside of the oval. The kids used this as a track, running like crazy around the oval. Then we put a children's step stool in the middle and they spent lots of time jumping off that! Neither of these take up too much room.
2. Oh, and have lots of dance time with children's music. Dance with your scarves or make-shift instruments. Use wooden spoons as rhythm sticks.Toss yarn balls to the rhythm. Sing, move and laugh. Exhausting and fun!
My high energy kid likes his bop bag (something like this <http://www.meijer.com/s/spider-man-36-inch-bop-bag-with-g...;
We also got a small outdoor basketball hoop and we keep it indoors in the winter <http://www.toysrus.com/product/index.jsp?productId=233300...;
Of course, his favorite activity is to wrestle with his brother, much to my dismay.
My two year old is a huge fan of the Spooner Board. He can sit on it and spin around and balance on it inside and slide on it outside. My five year old likes it a lot too, so it is a good long-term toy :)
My kids LOVED building forts out of the couch cushions, using blankets, sheets and big towels. I also tried to get my hands on large cardboard boxes as much as possible (go to an appliance store, it's a treasure trove a big, sturdy, FREE boxes!) They would make these into a fort, train, castle or house. Just cut a few "windows" and let him turn it into whatever he wants.
And what about those small, indoor "exercise" trampolines? I bet that would be fun.
If he's not still putting things in his mouth get him a marble run. I don't know what it is but most kids are fascinated with those. Also a self propelled racetrack keeps busy kids really engaged, we loved the Darda racecars:

You can also hang a wiffle ball on a string (outside) and give him a plastic bat. And I don't know if they still make it but my kids had a game called Gator Golf where you had to hit a golf ball into the alligators mouth, and then the gator would pop it out in the air, they LOVED that :-)
a mini kids trampolene! We had 1 in our livingroom for a year! It is great exercise and energy burner. Also with it being low to the ground it is relatively safe. Lets face it some kids can get hurt with anything!
