Our indoor cat who has been treated regularly with Advantage has fleas. How she got them we just cannot figure out. We need to bomb our home, but I don't know what would be effective and safe for our 21 month old son. Our son still puts some things in his mouth and I worry about spraying for fleas. Any suggestions about products and process would be very appreciated.

I would also highly recommend the Flea Busters. You can get it yourself or have it professionally done. It lasts for years and is non-toxic.
Instead of bombing try using diatomaceous earth. It is non toxic, and you just shake it over the carpets and couches just like carpet powder. You can find it at a gardening store like OSH. Some people may recommend Durstban... but that can be toxic, so I would only use that outside.
Switch to Frontline. Borax kills fleas and is generally considered safe. We've powdered it on the sofas and beds (while all the linens are being washed in hot water.) Leave it there for the day at least and then vacuum up. We've even beat it into the sofa and left it there before. You can also sprinkle it along the base boards and behind the fridge etc. With your little guy I'd probably keep it behind things.
