HI ladies. My ODS who is 4.5 has outgrown the Britax Boulevard we have for him. I am getting him the Britax Frontier 85 SICT for my car. But we need another for my husbands car. I don't want to have to move mine back and forth. Now at $339 each- I also don't want to buy 2 since he is only in my Dh car a few times a week. So, I am looking to spend like $150--ish on the 2nd booster. Safety of course is the #1 thing I am looking for here. And I don't want graco or another cheap brand (sorry if that sounds snotty). So do you have one that you love and reccomend?

Lol meredith c! No I just have had a few Franco things in the past fall apart on me so that is what I meant by cheap.

What can I do next?

sunshine kids monterey booster seat it runs about 130 ish I think. Its the only booster I have (I have bought 4 of them) they dont have the 5 pt harness but it has one of the highest ranked belt positioning so as long as they sit right it is perfectly safe.

We like the boosters where it's just a base and the "back" can detach on it.

Graco and other companies make them, and they are sold EVERYWHERE including Target and Wal-mart. Graco calls theirs the Highback Turbo Booster. Everyone we know and carpool with uses these.

With your son already being 4.5 it sounds to me like he's outgrowing the pricer ones that are full on carseats, not just boosters.

Since your into Britax, and this isn't going to be his primary carseat, but the secondary in Dad's car what about this one: http://www.amazon.com/Britax-Parkway-Booster-Seat-Onyx/dp...

Incidentally, I am a HUGE safety freak too. And we went Britax for our kids until they outgrew their infant/toddler carseats. We did move to the Graco boosters and LOVE them. They are well made, easy to clean, easy to move and the kids have been very comfortable.

Good luck!

Graco Turbobooster is one of the highest ranked high-backed booster seats on the market. If you wanted to spend more money, the Graco Nautilus is another excellent seat, but if you're not going to use the harness feature it's a waste of money.

If you want to make it look more expensive, you could staple some twenties to it, I guess.

If your child is over 40 lbs I would consider getting a high back booster, rather than another harnessed seat as a backup. Britax makes the parkway booster, which I liked, but we ended up getting a Recaro Vivo for our DD instead, which I LOVE.
