Any moms care to help an out of towner? I live in the Philadelphia area but will be hosting a baby "sprinkle" in July for my best friend who lives in Sterling. Since this is her second child it is a pretty casual event, more of an opportunity for everyone to get together and celebrate than it is for gifts and crazy decorations, etc. We will have between 18-20 women that day and it's not possible to have at anyone's home. Can anyone reccomend a nice, relatively affordable restaurant with a private room? Any ideas are appreciated, I don't mind getting "out of the box"! Thank you so much in advance!

What can I do next?

Clyde's Willow Creek!

It's perfect. There's an outdoor garden next to a fountain; there is a small private space inside. they have many different rooms where they could set you up.

Also, Aylesbury Tea Room in Historic Leesburg. They have a private upstairs room. http://www.aylesburytearoom.com/

HI, I had my baby shower for my second child at Olive garden in Sterling, they gave us a big table (18 people) in the back of the restaurant and we could have privacy and bring our own cake, it was really nice.

I have had a couple of second baby showers at Clydes. Either in Broadlands (Ashburn), or Reston Town Center. I am not sure if the Reston location can accommodate that many people, we only did about 8 for out second showers. We each paid for ourselves and split the mama to be's check. We only brought flowers and a diaper cake for decorations. The food and service were great.

Try some of the parks in the area... for example, the Brookside Gardens park in Montgomery County, Maryland has lovely gardens (one is Japanese style) with beautiful, big gazebos. The fees are reasonable. Check it out. Good luck and have fun! If you are looking for a cake, try Stellas bakery in Rockville. They did my wedding cake and several birthday, baptism cakes since -- have never been disappointed.

I second Clyde's Willow Creek - I attended a wedding rehearsal dinner there and they did a fantastic job! Nice private room upstairs (if there are no handicapped needs).

There is also a restaurant called Eggspectations on Westfields Blvd in Chantilly, VA. They have excellent food - for brunch or a lunch/dinner. And, they have a private room that would work great. Its probably not as expensive as Clyde's. The service is also fantastic there, we eat there often. =)
