In Home Child Care

I have 2 kids (girl 6, boy 3) and am expecting #3 in June.

I am looking for someone to come to my home starting in mid-August to care for my 3.5 year old son and newborn child, daughter will be in school full days. I will need 20-24 hours each week of child care so that I can work in my home office.

Have you employed someone like this before? Do you have any ideas
about how I can find a qualified person?? What about salary/vacation, taxes? I have looked into local child care centers and found that there is no option for part time infant care anywhere around here. So this is my next best option.

I am not really interested in a college student because of their
changing schedules and would prefer an adult who has experienced infant care and the terrible "3's" before. This is a permanent year round
position.

Please send me any comments or feedback you may have. Even thought
this is several months away....I feel that I need to start looking to find the right person that will work for my family's needs.

Thanks for your help!!

Hi S.,
Let me tell you a little about myself. I am a pediatric nurse turned stay-at-home mom of a baby boy. I am certified in child and infant CPR, basic life support and first aid. I also cared for a niece with severe disabilites and health problems. I am looking to watch other children in addition to my own litle guy. I live in Lakewood Falls in Plainfield. I can be flexible with hours/days as I have no other obligations-except my son who would need to come with me. I also had trouble finding reliable/affordable childcare-Childcare centers were very expensive and I wasn't comfortable with the in home daycare's I visited. I would be very interested in talking with you if you would like. I would be happy to provide you with references of pediatricians, nursing supervisors and physicians I have worked for. Please contact me at ____@____.com or ###-###-#### is my cell phone number if I am an option for you.
Take Care,
N.

Hi!
I read your e-mail, and I know I am not exactly what you're looking for, but I thought I'd respond in case you were flexible with the arrangement. I have been a full time kindergarten teacher for 7 years with Elementary and Early Childhood degrees. I had a baby in January and am planning to stay home after this school year is over to be with my son. I would like to watch 1 or 2 children in my home full or part time. I could be flexible! If this is something you'd be interested in or know someone looking for this type of childcare you can e-mail me at ____@____.com I live in Woodridge.

S.,
You can post an ad on craiglist.com. It is free. Look for Chicago in the city options. You may get some options there, even though most people who would contact you will need something current.
Also - you can call YWCA. Find the local office # from the website and call them to give you a list of local providers, nanny services, or independent care providers. They charge a nominal fee for the list.
Hope this helps.

I do not have any in home care for my daughter, 4 & 1/2 and diagnosed with autism, but I was looking recently, due to some health problems I have encountered. Try a google search for "nanny", "nannies", "au pair", or "child care". Some sites I found that were informative was www.nanny.com, www.childcareaware.org, www.aupairusa.org, and www.4nanny.com. Hopefully these will help you.
