In-Home Childcare/ Nanny

I've been sending my 9-month old daughter to a childcare for the past 2 months. It was the best childcare I could find that's close to my house and affordable. But it breaks my heart every day when I pick her up from the childcare. She looks so tired and dirty!!! Her bib is either stinky or super dirty. I don't know why they don't change it out. She also have rashes on her chin because of drewling. I beg them to put Vassaline on for her but I guess they don't have time. Lately, she only dring 1 oz of milk plus solid food for lunch and 3 oz of milk for snack!!! It agree that it's getting a little harder to feed her but if you insist, she'd drink it. Anyway, I wonder if anyone know of any good in-home childcare or a nanny (affordable pls!)? I live around Westpark & Beltway 8 (Westchase area).

What can I do next?

Hello P.,
I do understand your concern for your angel. I stay home with my 2 children. My son just started daycare 2 days a week. I live in Jersey Village. I would be willing to try to help you out. I know noone can take care of your children like yourself. I was feeling quilty for taken my 3yr old to daycare but, I know he needs the social skills. My daughter is 22mons.

P.,

Call Kathy at ###-###-#### or ###-###-####, she's located off of W.Airport and Eldridge. My husband and I met with her and she is wonderful. The only reason we didn't go with her, is because we have decided that we'd rather have someone come into our home. We checked Kathy's references and they all had glowing reviews. Her home is spotless and she has over 30 years of experience. Not sure if she has any openings currently, but it's worth it to give her a call. Hope everything works out for you.

P.,

go to www.dfps.state.tx.us and search texas child care, search daycares, fill in preference home-based or center-based care, age range, and zip code(s) most convenient for you. when the list comes up you can click on each name for more information including inspection dates and whether they had any violations at each inspection. i recommend looking at each and every violation, paperwork really doesn't count for me. i'm more concerned with the actual treatment of the children in their care.

you can also check the greensheet for your area. you can pick this up from a local grocery store or convenient store.

i wish you the best of luck in your search.

Wow, thats really sad and you should raise hell and not let the slide, i used to work for a daycare in the infant's room and we treated those children like our own. We had those kids so spoiled that they didnt want to go home at the end of the day. There's no such thing as they dont have time to put medicine on your daughter, if you request that they should do it. That's just signs of some lazy a$$ people and your child is looking dirty too, no way!!!! And there are a lot of daycares where if the child doesnt eat they will not force them, but they need to at least try harder.
I will tell you this dont think in-home is any better because it can be worst. You should try and find a daycare with parent watch, where you can watch your kids online while at work. Maybe try and nanny service and see what they can offer you.
Good Luck
