Immunizations Without Aborted Babies

HI guys
I have posted a few questions here before and gotten a LOT of help and useful information so I have another question.

I am wondering how to get the immunizations for my babies that DO NOT have the aborted fetuses. Can you just ask the doctor or do you have to go to a special place or what? With my first daughter who is 15 months I didn't even think about it but now my baby is going in for her 2 month shots and I WILL NOT have her be given shots that are made from murdered babies. I'm sure there are pro-chioce people that will read this and I'm not trying to cause problems but I am very anti-abortion so this is a big deal to me.

Any information would be great... thanks!
A.

Ashley,
I haven't heard this and I am very pro-life. Could you please e-mail me back as to what immunizations contain the fetuses. Thanks,
D.

I am pro-life and christian, HOWEVER I wouldn't even consider NOT having my children immunized. I think it's idiodic and irresponsible to refuse immunizations for your child. I have NO IDEA why anyone would consider leaving their child unprotected and suseptible to HORRIFIC diseases that God has given us the wisdom to come up with ways to protect ourselves....HELLO PEOPLE. Basically I choose not to let my "view" on abortion put my children at risk!! I couldn't imagine looking my child in the eye if they contracted a disease that I could have prevented them from having and saying...sorry, my bad!!

I know it's trendy to blame all of our childrens health issues on immunizations, but I think we should be a little more intelligent about this!!!!!

First things first I would call the Dr. and maybe you will be able to get the manufacturer of their immunizations and go online and possibly find out something that way.

I have to agree with another comment that was stated on here. I am for the most part against abortion, I am against using it as a method of birth control and I know that there is always adoption.....BUT....I do know that it would be a difficult decision to make if your unborn child had so many problems (and I am not just talking Downs or something like that) I mean major problems severe handicaps thta there would be no quality of life for them, I would not agree but could begin to understand ending a pregnancy. Also I feel that if I were raped and ended up pregnant, I would not blame a person for choosing to end it also. I am however severly against 2nd and 3rd trimester abortions, that decision should be made early enough. Those are the only 2 situations that I would not blame a person for deciding to have an abortion.

Ok I am rambling, my point was that I think you went alittle far by saying "murdered babies" simply saying I am pro-life would have done it.

Think about how science has evolved today and the things that we know and have learned, they have learned alot of these things from testing on humans and dead bodies that are donated or during autopsy, who knows what that person could have done while they were alive and they may have taught the medical field something that will save your or my life.

Ashley,
My pediatrician is very openly Christian, and I believe that he would tell me as honestly as possible if I were to ask him about this issue. (Not that I wouldn't back up with facts!!!) Anyway, perhaps if you call your doc, he will be able to tell you something -- that is what I am planning on doing next month with our next round of shots.
Good luck! ;)

Well I read some of the responses and researched some of the links that were provided and it seems as though you have either vaccines from aborted children from 30+ years ago or monkey livers and or kidneys...but not getting her shots is even more dangerous because there are so many things out here now in the world you would never forgive yourself if they got sick from something that was preventable because of your feelings on abortion.

I feel the same way you do. I chose to not vaccinate my daughter. I don't know of any vaccines that are not grown on partial-birth abortion fetus cells. Even if the vaccine does not include that, they are still grown on things like chicken or monkey cells. I don't really want those injected, either. There have been studies done on supposed Non thimerosal (mercury) containing vaccines, and it was found in the vaccine anyways. It's a sticky subject, but I don't trust pharmaceutical companies that are looking to make money to be truthful about what they are doing.

You need to express your concerns to your doctor. He or she should be willing to work with you to help you find vaccines you are comfortable using. And if they aren't, change docs!

I did a little research and found a great site that can answer many of your questions at http://www.dgwsoft.co.uk/homepages/vaccines/usvaccines.html. To me, it looks like you can get alternatives for all, or almost all, of the most common vaccines, and some in general use are okay because they are not grown using fetal cells.

Personally, I have chosen not to vaccinate my daughter after my son developed encephalitis when he was two. The docs don't know what caused his encephalitis, and it may be a vaccine, so I am holding off unless there is a major outbreak. It isn't worth the risk to me.

I am probably not as anti-abortion as you are, but I do find a moral dilemma in using fetal cells to grow vaccines, especially when there are perfectly good alternatives. BTW, these fetuses were aborted in the 60's and their cells are still in use. So only two fetuses have supported the growth of a lot of vaccines. That is not a justification, just an interesting fact.

The above link provides more discussion for background reading regarding the how and why of the manufacturing of the vaccines from prolife activists. Of note on how to get the vaccines without human fetal cell lines...offices usually contract with their preferred vaccine provider because they believe that vaccine to have benefit over another vaccine, for instance it can provide higher titer levels for a longer time period. They choose vaccines (hopefully) based on efficacy at protecting life. That being said, they may or may not be able to get a small amount of another vaccine (the one you want) from another company and may direct you to another health care provider who contracts with that company. But, more than likely your doctor will not know which colleagues use your particular vaccine of choice and you will have to call around. Just an FYI on the mechanics.
