Yes, my son at 12 months old had the same reaction to the MMR shot. He also got the chickenpox vaccine at the same time, but the doctor said it was the MMR. It went away in a few days and I just treated the fever with Tylenol.
Our 19 month old just had his immunizations for MMR and Chickenpox...this was about 8 days ago. Yesterday he developed a low fever (bounced between 99-100.5) and a rash that looks like little bites (or chicken pox) all over his body. I am wondering if any other parents have had their kids have reactions to the vaccinations and if this is normal. I'm not positive that is what it is, but we can't think of anything else that has changed in the last few days to spark this. Any info would be greatly appreciated!

I know that when my son recieved his shot, in matter of days he actually broke out with chickpoxs. If you have any concerns call your DR.
yes, my son had this same reaction to one of the booster shots of the MMR. I still called the dr. to confirm that what I was seeing was normal -- she assured me that it was a reaction to the shot. as long as he was comfortable and not irritated by the reaction, he was fine, and as long as i could control the fever with motrin/tylenol -- he was fine. keep an eye on him closely to make sure it's going away/getting better. call your dr's nurse if you're really concerned or not sure. it doesn't hurt to call.
Hi M.,
I am a Pedi RN- this is a TOTALLY normal reaction to the immunizations.
Do you still have the hand out the Dr gives you w/ info about the shots? It should talk about the rash, the temp etc...
He is not contagious.
