This wedding will be out of my pocket and I would like to save money as much as I can. Is there a good florist that anybody would recommend? Does any moms out there can give me some advice, where I should start.

What can I do next?

If you find a nice church or garden, like The Little Chapel in the Woods at UNT in Denton, or a nice hotel then you don't need flowers. Only have your own bouquet (try to use another flower than a rose) and have the brides maids carry a single rose or a lily each. Have an early wedding with the reception in the after noon. Don't serve dinner. Have nice hors d'oeuvres, cake and champagne toast.

T.,
I have been married twice and both times paid for out of my pocket. The first was a big wedding. However, the second one was very simple. We did a Hawaniian theme. It only cost about $1000.00. One way to say money on a florist is to do it yourself if you can. I did alot of my flowers for the first. IF you would like anymore information, feel free to email me ____@____.com

My wedding was probably no more than 500 dollars including my dress. Bought my dress at Davids Bridal ($99) my sisters dress was $39 davids flower girls dresses at Kohls. Decorations Hobby Lobby. I did my own invatations. They where simple but cute. I think Walmart has pretty good deals on cakes and also Tom THumb. But Davids Bridal and Hobby Lobby you can put a beautiful wedding together and it will not cost a lot!! GOOD LUCK!!!

Hi, T.. I paid for my own wedding as well and came to the conclusion that anyone you can find who works out of their own home is going to save you some money because they don't have the overhead expenses to pay like a retail storefront who must also pay employees.

I live near White Rock Lake across from the Arboretum and my neighbor did our flowers at a very reasonable cost. She works from her home. Here is her information:

Cindy Burres
Noted Master Florist
###-###-####
###-###-#### pager

You can tell her that her neighbor, Cathy King, referred you.
I also got my invitations through a lady who worked out of her home, but I didn't keep her information. Although, they are not difficult to find. We found a woman who did cakes out of her home and only paid about $250 for both the bride's cake and a groom's cake. My dress I got on sale at Mockingbird Bridal during their big annual sale...I spent $380 on a dress that retailed for about six or seven hundred. We did the food ourselves...just appetizers, beer, wine and punch. Of course it was a relatively small wedding.

Good luck!
