I take my daughter to Pediatric Healthcare Alliance. They have several offices in Tampa, you should be able to find one near you.
Good luck!
Can anyone recommend a good baby doctor? I moved to Tampa from Sarasota. The hour drive is too much. My baby has a herniated bellybutton and we need to find a local doctor.

My daugther is 22 months old and has asthma. After trail and error we found a good pedtrician. Her name is Dr. Teena Hughes, she is located in near USF. She is quick to call back after hours and she has a great bedside manner. My daugther was scared of doctors after the first year of her life and all the hospital stays, but she does really well with Dr Hughes.
Hi E.,
i love my childrens pediatrician, she is a Nurse Practitioner, her name is Teresa Valdez and the name of her practice is Gulf Coast Pediatrics and Family on Gunn Hwy behind the Citrus Park Town Center. there phone number is ###-###-####, all of the staff is wonderful as well! Good luck in finding a ped. for your baby.
Hi,
I would recommend Dr. Ovidio Mendez. My daughter is five and has always seen him. He is located on Dale Mabry near Bears and it is with Healthpointe. He is very old fashioned and not quick to give your child new medication that is on that market just to appease the
the drug companies. There are several other doctors also there and they are all extremely nice and if your child is sick they get you in the office within hours. My two best friends went to him when they were little and he is well trusted and caring. The number is ###-###-####
What part of Tampa? I live in Town N Country. My son has been going to Bayside Pediatrics since he was a newborn and we really enjoy going there. The doctor that my son sees is Jessica Smith. They are located on Sheldon Rd just North of Hillsborough Ave. The number there is ###-###-####
Welcome to Tampa! Dr. Dominic Reina or Dr. Jacobson at Health Point Pediatrics on Virginia Ave are both wonderful doctors. You will love them both ,and they are located by St. Joseph's Children Hospital.
I have to second Dr. Hoyos the man is wonderful.
H.
Dr. Hoyos with My Pediatrics on Bruce B. Downs is fantastic. He is only there until noon most days but very experienced
Hi E., I'd like to recommend a great doctor, his name is Dr. Tomas de Brigard. He and his wife, a nurse, have 3 kids of thier own so he takes a practical approach to caring for kids. His office number is ###-###-####, by the way he also speaks Spanish. I think you will really like him and his staff. Let me give you a quick example of how helpful they are at the office: yesterday when I drove into the parking lot it was raining and one of the office staff members ran out to meet me at my car with an umbrella - they escorted me in and then out of the office under thier umbrella- when is the last time that happened to you at a doctor's office? Good luck.
I also second the suggestion for Dr. Hoyos. That same practice also has Dr. Mastermon-Smith and Dr. Kolb that are also excellent. The office has hours 7 days/week and they always promptly return calls. Good luck!
Please let us know what part of Tampa you are in so you can get recommendations of Drs. close to your home...Pediatric Healthcare Alliance is really good and recommended by many on this board. They have several offices in Tampa.
Hi E.,
I live in the North Tampa/Lutz area and I love my Pediatric Health Care Alliance office (Northside Branch). They have a lot of Doctors there and good Nurse Practitioners. The Doctor for my children is Dr. Korman, and I have also had Dr. Perkins attend to my 1 year old. There phone number is ###-###-####.
Hope this helps.
My children go to Dr. Nadal in Bloomongdale he also has an office in Brandon. I do not know how close that is to you. Both my niece has the same problem and her brother did also (they live out of state). He just got it corrected a couple of weeks ago at the age of 4.
Dear E.,
I suggest our family pediatrician Dr. Earl Smith. He takes care of my son and was also my pediatrician when I was a kid. He is on Armenia and his telephone number is ###-###-####. K.
Like Heather mentioned, I like my Pediatric Healthcare Alliance. I use the Lutz office but had to go to the after hours office located in Carrollwood once.
