I'm 33 Weeks but Feel like She Is About to Come out....HELP...

For the past few days I have felt for the first time like I have never felt before throughout this whole pregnancy. Has anyone else experienced the same feeling? It feels like she is sitting down or pushing down really hard on my bladder, or towards my vaginal area. When I walk around it feels like she could just fall out any minute. I know that's not realistic but that's the way it feels. She is more active than she has ever been, it's like she doesn't ever stop rolling around. Is this what happens right before you go into labor or is this normal for right now??

What can I do next?

I felt that way at 32 weeks and called the Dr because it really felt like her head was about to come out. I couldn't walk right and sitting felt weird. They told me over the phone that its normal once the baby goes down to feel like she's going to fall out, but brought me in to check out everything anyways. Turns out she was pretty far in the birth canal and the Dr could feel her without much effort during the exam. I was put on bed rest for the next months and everything was fine. He said I had a great possibility of early labor if I kept going and didn't take it easy. Best of luck to you and your soon to be little one!

oh honey!I feel your pain....I was there just about 6 months ago! My doc said it was normal, I went in just in case so you may want to call. They suggested for me to get a maternity belt to help support my tummy which I did and it did help. I felt like I had to hold my stomach or the whole thing would fall off. Not to mention the pain of my pelvic bone feeling like it was being ripped apart. OUCH!!! You can get the maternity belts at resale shops or maternity stores. I got mine at the breastfeeding center in Bedford.Absolutely the best place ever!! The last two weeks of my pregnancy I was dialated to a 2 so the belt came in handy then as well. The baby could be positioning his or herslf to since it is getting closer to delivery time. Both my daughters dropped pretty early. They just run out of room so quick they have to. ( : I still have my belt if you are interested in one. Good luck to you!

Hi Kate,
I have had two children....with my second child, I felt the way you are describing...I actually had an infection that can cause pre-term labor. I would call the doctor just to make sure. It could just be that the baby is getting in position, but when I told the doctor the same thing you are stating she did an exam and some test...it came back positive and with some medication it cleared. From what I read, without treatment you could go into preterm labor. I actually had it twice...I read that it is caused from a hormonally change that makes your pH off and you get this infection. It is not uncommon during pregnancy, however does need treatment. If you have other questions, feel free to let me know, but I would call the Dr.

K.,

I am also 33 weeks pregnant - with twin girls. I feel the same way and it's perfectly normal. I'm assuming you're having 1 baby, so at 33 weeks, it's nothing to worry about. Chances are you won't go into labor for quite some time - especially if this is your first (unless you have other complications that would cause you to go into labor early). I know it's easy to worry about every little thing, but try and enjoy the remainder of your pregnancy as much as you can. You are going to start feeling a lot of new things in the last few weeks of your pregnancy, but unless you have bleeding or "leakage" (from your water breaking), don't worry about it. You'll know when you're REALLY in labor. Trust me. I have a 3-year old daughter and there was no mistaking when it was the real thing!

Best of luck to you and enjoy the rest of being pregnant. It doesn't last long!

Sounds like she's dropped...getting ready for labor. Just tell your doc at your next appt. Does it feel like the same pressure when you have to number #2? (Sorry, didn't know how else to phrase it) If it's the same feeling, then she's dropping into position.

This happened to me at about the same time. My baby was actually 3 days late, so it doesn't necessarily mean you baby is about to be botn. It was a pretty fast delivery, though, so maybe you have that to look forward to!

I have to agree - she has probably just dropped and "engaged" early. (preparing for birth) Both of my boys did this, and they were born at 39 and 38 weeks. (both absolutely fine) I don't think my body can carry to full 40 weeks! Ha! I know it's uncomfortable - esp. when sitting. Just remember that she can't really "fall out." (Although there were times that I was convinced that my 3 month old would!)

so by now you are pretty assured it is a combination of lightening and round ligament stretch. In other words the baby is dropping down into the pelvis, putting pressure on the bladder and stretching up against the top of the uterus causing the round ligaments to stretch against the pelvis where they are anchored as well. A good sign is that you can actually breathe a "little" easier and eat a little more. Many ladies get a tummy belt, Gabriella makes a good product and it is available here at The Nesting Place, feel free to email me offline.

I felt that way with my third. In fact, my husband brought it to my attention that I was "grabbing" myself (without even knowing it)..like I was trying to push her back up. I constantly told my midwives that if I sneezed she would fall out...I felt like she was around my knees. The only thing my midwives told me was,"don't worry, it will take more than a sneeze to get her out"...they were right. She was also 10 days late. I talked to several other moms when I was pregnant and this seemed very common. I know that doesn't really make your feeling of pressure go away, but at least you know that it happened to others :) I hope you enjoy the rest of your pregnancy and have a beautiful birth experience!

I feel your pain. It happened to me as well w/my youngest. I went in and was in fact in labor and dilated to a 2 but just not ready but they did keep me cause I had high blood pressure and had to stay at the hospital for a week and had him while I was still in the hospital.

Just to be on the safe side you might want to go in. She might be positioning herself and the maternity belt did help me as well.

Good Luck.
