yes. He could. If you have an idea of what it is then I would be careful with letting him or her eat it again. You could also give them some tums if it happens again.
Can My 11 yr. old have heartburn after eating a certain thing?

L....yes, an 11-year-old can get heartburn. I have suffered on and off throughout my life with it. If you look up GERD - foods to avoid on the internet, you will see a list of offending foods. Some big ones are tomatoes, caffeine, chocolate, etc. I used to take Gaviscon. Now, I use a natural methods - 2 tsp of apple cider vinegar in a cup of water with a little agave nectar to sweeten it (your daughter probably won't like this) or I eat fresh pineapple. The pineapple is really good and works wonder for heartburn too.
My 7yr old was prescribed Zantac... So, I'd certainly say an 11yr old could be dealing with heartburn or acid reflux.
Yes it's possible and depends on what she ate!
Absolutely. Determine what it is and avoid it. I find that when I have heartburn it's because of hydrogentated oil. I don't use hydrogenated oil but when I'm at a restaurant or someone serves me something at their home, it is inevitably the oil. My biggest diappointment is the Lorna Doone cookies. I loved them as a child and it was always a treat to get them and the last time I had some my heartburn was so bad I was miserable. I read the label and they had changed the recipe to include hydrogenated oil....besides the heartburn, it's dangerous to your health. Heartburn is a good indicator that something is wrong....
God bless,

When I was in the 6th-7th grade, I used to get heartburn so bad that I couldn't stand up. My school nurse even told me that I was faking it b/c kids "don't get heartburn". I had it worse at that age, and had it not so bad when I was a little older.
Of course that can happen. My daughter who is now 5 has always had reflux which causes heartburn. She was prescribed Zantac. Call your ped. as he/she may prescribe something or tell you what your child can take over the counter. Heartburn is no fun for adults and it definitely is no fun for a child. I would also try to pinpoint what causes the heartburn and eliminate that from the diet.
Hi, L.:
Yes: Get some Acid Soothe by enzymedica on hand for these occasions.
Hope this helps. D.
