Hey All,
We filed our petition today.
I'm trying to back away from the idea that I know exactly what should happen and that there is only one way that things will end up okay - more specifically, that my kids will be okay through this. I am fighting for what I think is right, but I'm unconditionally committed to my niece so that means that if the courts think her bio parents should have access to her, well, we'll figure out how to support her and our other child through it.
Anyway, with that in mind, I am just hoping that if you have the space and desire, you might send my children your good thoughts and protective prayers. I'm just praying that they'll be okay. That we'll come out stronger and more joyful people as a result of whatever happens. You know, at least eventually.
Okay. That's all. Question: Have you seen anything beautiful happen today?

Beautiful thing today .... LO had his first ice cream cone today ... He enjoyed it immensely ... All the way down to his shoes!
Dear God, Please bestow your strength on our Sister Ephie. Please help her follow Mary's guidance and have faith that she is doing her best for all her children. Ephie's light has warmed us all and we ask that warmth be returned to her.
But mostly God, please help our Ephie to continue to believe in herself, the way WE believe in her, and help her remember how Blessed is everyone who knows her, especially her children.

Oh wait! I didn't answer the question! Today, I dropped off my 1lb 11oz 26 week preemie at COLLEGE! Yeah, THAT was pretty freakin' beautiful. Thanks for asking.

In answer to your question....I actually found joy in mowing the lawn today.
My son broke his foot in football practice...and I had the chance, while mowing, to meet some 'walking' neighbors I would not ordinarily have met.
Sons foot is healing...
I got exercize...met folks...and, BECAUSE of son's foot...got to 'mother' him (making lunch...helping with clothes for the day etc) as I have not been able to in YEARS!!
You will be OK...you will be stronger...and more joyful...

Yes, I will pray for you/them.
I can tell you during my divorce I did have one idea of what was everything working out. That didn't happen and I adapted.
Regardless of how this works out you are resilient, you will adapt! :)
