Does anyone have any ideas on where I should have my daughter(going on 7th) bday party? I'm looking for a place close by (we're in northampton)thats some what reasonable with the price. The other issue is that shes a very sensitive child and doesn't like to leave anyone out so she invites the whole class plus a couple cousins. Last year we did the holyoke childrens museum which was ok but they did nothing other then let us use the room. We brought the cake and drinks did ALL the work. I hate to have it in the same place (and go through that again) so I thought I'd ask if someone had some other thoughts. Gotta book somewhere soon because her bday is mid jan.
Thanks!!

What can I do next?

The 'big adventures' place in Westfield is really fun, and it's huge! You could check out Interskate 91 in the Hadley mall, too. Are you a member of the Northampton YMCA? They might have options. Also, most gymnastic gyms do a nice job with parties, it's how they augment their income on weekends, is there one near you? The closest might be Whip City in West Springfield, check local listings though.
Happy Birthday to your daughter!

P.,

I know how hard it is to find a great location for a birthday party, I am the the mother of 3 ages 7, 9, 11. I live in Westfield and there is a place called Big Adventures. They offer alot of activities for kids of all ages and my daughter says it's a blast. I think it's just like Kidscape they used to have in Hadley. They offer party packages and it's a great place to let kids do their own thing and run wild so to speak. Their website is www.bigfamilyadventures.com I know it might be a little out of your way to bring all of your daughter's friends to but it's just a suggestion. Check them out, it's worth a look.

I definitely second the Big Kid Adventures, great place for a party. Just to warn you it's LOUD and a bit chaotic.

If you're looking for something smaller and more tame, and don't mind a little drive, try Claymates in Belchertown. Each kid gets a clay figurine and any color paints they want. We did a party there and the kids absolutely loved it.

YOu can rent the swimming pool at the Red Roof Inn in South Deerfield. You still have to do all the food work, but since it is a swimming party, parents hang around and it becomes a lovely community time for kids and parents alike.
Also there is Universal Kids in Noho which is sort of an indoor playground. I am not sure what their birthday parties are like
ONe more idea- Butterfly Museum in South Deerfield or maybe Deerfield- Magical Wings is what it's called. I thin they do Birthday parties.
Good Luck!
