I have had a salivary stone for 5 days now that will not pass. The duct is not completely blocked, as I can squeeze out some saliva. Unfortunetly it is infected now. I have tried every sour item known to man. Please pass on any ideas that have worked for you!

What can I do next?

I had one many years ago and I sucked on sour heads candies for about four days before it finally passed.

Good luck!

If it's infected I would go to the doctor. The last thing you want in an infection in your mouth.

I'm so sorry, I know how awful those can be. When I had one I found lemon altoids, to this day my mouth waters just thinking of them. I really don't know what else to suggest, the fact that it is only partially blocked could make it hard for something sour to work it out. Good luck, I hope you find something that works.

How frustrating.

If I feel one building up, I will use a small child sized toothbrush and lightly brush back there. I will even press it against that area. I have also been successful gargling with warm salt water. Sometimes moving my tongue side to side, keeping it low in my mouth, slowly, with lots of pressure while my mouth is open.

I really try to work at not getting them.
I used to use a water pick and it was perfect. I never replaced it once I gave it to someone else, but I may go out and get one again.

Getting the salivation really going in there is really important. Super sour candy is excellent.

Alum is a spice that would help or hopefully work. It is a white powder that my mom used to put on my cold sores.
