Hi Moms -
I need some creative, yet quick-to-make, ideas for meat-free, nut-free lunches. My son loves cheese, but I don't want to give him that five days a week. Hummos already is on our list, as is edamame. I can't use soy-butter or seed-butter. Suggestions, please! Thanks!

What can I do next?

I try to have a 'main item' (like a sandwich, noodles, salad, etc) then I add in 1-2 fruits and 1-2 snacks (chips, pretzels, fruit snack, gogurt, etc).

My DD is super picky and will only eat a few things. One of the things that I send for her lunch some days is greek yogurt. It's high in protein so it helps to fill her up.

Just curious why you can't use the sunflower butter...

I know a lot of kids that have a small thermos in their lunch where they have heated foods like soup, casseroles, etc.

The Morningstar Farms chik patties are pretty good. If you cook it in the morning and wrap it in foil, it will still be warm at lunchtime. You can make a sandwich out of it, or just cut it into bites.

Egg salad sandwiches
Tuna fish sandwiches
Soup in a thermos
pasta/mac & cheese
