Hi Everyone,
I am looking to take my mom out to a theater to see a play in May or June. I would like to treat her to a lunch or dinner as well. I know there has to be other places to go other than Drury Lane, but I am unfamiliar with them. I love Drury Lane for their brunch, but I know my mom would not be interested in the upcoming play about Superman. Do you know of any other places that offer a dinner/theater package that has a good play running now, and serves good food? Or can you recommend a play that is showing now or soon that has a great restaurant not too far from the theater? My cousin and I plan on presenting our moms with a gift certificate on Mother's Day that we will use sometime in late May or June. Thank you for reading my post, and thanks in advance for any of you who offer me suggestions. I appreciate it!

What can I do next?

Hi J.,

My husband and I do entertaining through the Marriot Theather in Lincolnshire. Great musicals/plays and they have an onsite restuarant that you can combine as a package with the performance. Reasonable price for the package. Too..We've been happy with it and plan to take some family there for their birthday's later this summer. Check it out. http://www.marriotttheatre.com/

Best Wishes!

Two ideas come to mind when I think of dinner theater or in your case lunch theater. The first is The Marriott Lincolnshire. This theater is in the round and it is very popular. You can check out the productions at www.marriotttheater.com/ The Producers and The Wizard of Oz are coming in June and July. The dining is also very nice.

The other is Pheasant Run in St. Charles www.pheasantrun.com/theater/index/.htm
Pheasant Run is really fun because it is completely renovated and has dining and shopping set in an area that mimics The French Quarter. This is a fun mom's day out.

Have a wonderful experience with your mom.

Hi, J.. Try Pheasant Run in St. Charles. I haven't been there since they remodeled a couple years ago, but I do remember their dinner theater was great. Service was incredible. Wheaton Drama is a small theater company, located on Hale Street in Wheaton (www.wheatondrama. either com or org, I'm not sure which). I've been getting their season tickets for a couple years. They're just theater, no dinner involved, and it's no Drury Lane, but the quality of their presentations is wonderful.

Also, do a web search, live theater in chicago burbs, see what comes up! I know there's one in LIncolnshire, which is a drive, but was well worth the couple I saw a few years back.

Hope this helps!
