Happy Holidays!
Hi ladies. I'm not a mom, but I am a devoted aunt to my two adorable nephews (4 and 2). I have been able to travel from Boston to Gainesville about every two months and stay with them for a week or so. I am desperately trying to find fun things to do with them in the Gainesville area. I want to get them out of the house and explore. My brother is a stay at home dad and is a great father, but tends to stay close to home and I'd like for my nephews to have more experiences out of the house.
Would you have any suggestions for places or parks I could bring them or activities that might be going on in the area? Would you happen to know of any Daddy groups? Thank you so much for your ideas. I truly appreciate them.

Happy Holidays!
Hi, E., What a great aunt you are! I'm not familiar with Gainsville, but I wish you good luck in finding fun things to do! As for the Daddy groups, you might want to Google Stay-at-Home Dads + Gainsville. Happy Holidays!
For Daddy groups, check out meetup.com. I always find my mom's groups that way. Near bigger cities, you can often find SAHD groups, too.
E.:
You are soooo close to DC - take them to the Smithsonian - take them to DC - play ball with them on the National Mall - have a picnic with them in the National Mall - there's SOOOOO much to do in this historic area.
If they were older, I would suggest all of the Civil War sites in the area as well - Bull Run oh my word - soooo many!
How great that you are able to spend so much time with your nephews!
Take care!
Cheryl
Do you mean Gainesville Virginia?
If so, there is a Little Gym in the shopping center near I66 by Target, near Panera Bread. They have one free class to check out their programs, I'm sure the boys would love that. (I have 3 boys, ages 4, 3, and 21 mo). Also, Fair Oaks Mall in Fairfax has a nice play area for them to play in, and lots of Christmas stuff this time of year, like the giant snowball. I try to take my boys to the library at least once a week, or a play area, we also go to DC to museums. You'd be surprised how many have areas for small children!
