Whole foods has tons of great stuff that my son loves. And since it's organic/natural I don't worry that it's not good for him. I would check out that store.
My little sweetie is 8 months old and is learning to feed herself. She has my irish genes and so loves carbohydrates (potatoes, bread, pasta) But really she is a great eater and has been enthusiastic about anything put in front of her. She has only 2 teeth. So she is gumming it all. I wondered what suggestions you might have on things to feed her. I am just looking for some new ideas beyond her current peas, potatoes, carrots, squash, pasta, toast, soft fruits, cheese, shepherd's pie, macaroni and cheese, yoghurt, cereals, cooked egg yolks.

I'm with your daughter. I love my carbs too. I have a son that is 16 mo. and he still doesn't have all his teeth so feeding him has been a challenge. He is a wonderful eater though. I wanted to expose him to varieties of foods early on so he would have a taste for them. Here's some of the things he managed to eat without all his teeth. Loves chinese food, brocolli (just the bushy part not the spear), peanut butter sandwhiches, bananas, cucumbers, sweet potatoes (another favorite), canned carrots (another favorite), chicken noodle soup, chicken and rice soup, chili, beans, etc. You might be shocked at what your daughter can chew with only 2 teeth. Austin has quite a bit more now and still eats great! I wouldn't suggest anything to chewy like raisins or prunes just yet. My mom always gave the kids corn cobs without the corn. They loved to chew on it for their teeth and suck the juice off of it. Try giving her very small pieces of some of the foods you eat and see how she does. I know if Austin has trouble with something, he will take it out of his mouth and hand it back to me. Just thought of it, try some oatmeal. Instant oatmeal is a big hit with Austin and it's easy. Scrambled eggs, pancakes, biscuits. Just try everything in very small bites and keep an eye on her. Good luck! Shannon
Try chicken. You put it in the pan with a little water, bring it to a slow boil, cover and let it cook till the chicken is done. About 10 min..maybe. I'm not sure on the time. The chicken comes out really really tender. It's easy to gum. My dd is 11 months and she just got her first two teeth. She's been eating chicken for a few months and we've never had any problems. Pre-made frozen tortellini (sp) are great too. Morning start Veggie Chicken nuggets are a HUGE hit at our house. They're a little greasy, so I wouldn't give her a ton, but they're really soft and easy to gum. It's so hard finding stuff for them! Good luck!
does she like sweet potatoes? I used to make my son sweet potatoe fries in the oven and he loved them. You just peel a sweet potatoe and cut it into strips and put them on a baking dish with a thin layer of oil. Bake them in to oven at 450 for about 25-30 minutes or until they are soft. Once they are cool dig in!
Try to check into the cookbooks for little ones. Super Baby Food is a good one. Maybe your library will have it. Plus, search the web for toddler food recipes.
