I'm looking for ideas for a birthday party for my 3 year old. I want to make sure he enjoys his day. I don't think a home party will work out well, because he has a very difficult time sharing. Any ideas of places that worked well for 3 year olds.

What can I do next?

We had my kids' 2nd & 4th party at the Nut Tree Family Park in Vacaville. Check it out on line. The kids loved, the prices, though they seemed high at first, ended being pretty reasonable for not having to do any cooking/set up/cleanup/goodie bags/etc...

The park was small enough that you didn't have such a great fear of losing your kids in the crowd. All the parents loved it too.

I love Bouncetown in Rancho Cordova for 3 year old parties. They do all the set-up and Clean-up and the best part is that all the kids go home exhausted.

If you have relatives in town or close by you could ask them to host it. Grandparents that don't get to see their grandbabies enough will usually take any opportunity they can to visit and take pictures.

The Michael's by my house has a party room. Last I saw they had a pirate party package. Every child gets to make a special pirate craft.

Funtastic Playcenters are indoor playgrounds with jungle gym types of things.

The zoo, Fairy Tale Town, and Funderland are all fun.

If your son is one of the youngest, a skating rink might be a fun way to go.

Parks are always a good choice if you are expecting good weather.

As a shameless plug for my company, :-) I have to tell you about Noah's Ark Animal Workshops. I travel to wherever you are and every child gets to be a toy maker and stuff an animal friend. No sharing needed. No party favors are needed either because everyone gets a fabulous stuffed animal, a birth certificate and a take home bag. We have had many birthday parties at the park. Assuming the birthday is close at hand, the weather should cooperate. I always liked having them there because the kids would run around and play and I didn't have to come up with alot of party games or have to keep them occupied. Its not too hard to transport cupcakes and popsicles, and the kids love it!!
