It's worth a try, right? I actually would like to meet people, but it doesn't seem like there's anyone near me. Am I wrong? I'd love to be wrong!
Sherman is a bedroom community of Springfield, so about an hour south of Peoria.

My dads family is in Peoria!!! So I'm out there every other year or so :).
Hey J., I live in Petersburg and go through Sherman at least once a week. I usually do my shopping at Walmart on Dirksen and cutting through Sherman is faster than actually driving through Springfield.
I haven't seen a lot of women from the Central Illinois area either though. Most are from the Chicago area. :-(
I'm about 25 miles WSW of downtown Chicago and have met many great people on Meetup.com. I had NO mommy friends in this area a few years ago, but I joined a few different groups that interested me, saw what stuck, and 3 years later I have good friendships with 6 women in my area who share my interests and values. You might want to check to see if there's anything happening in your area on Meetup. Good luck!
