I spilled tincture of merthiolate on my bathroom counter. I've tried kaboom, scrubbing and bleach but the stubborn stain won't come off. any ideas?

What can I do next?

So What Happened?

You women are awesome!!!!

The hydrogen peroxide worked! Most of the stains are gone after an all-day soak yesterday. I'm sure the hydrogen peroxide will work on the stains that keep working their way up from the wall as long as I figure out how to keep the hydrogen peroxide on the wall.

try hydrogen peroxide, it seems to be the new "does everything" product. the mr clean magic eraser might help also. Merthiolate is some crazy stuff, my husband loves it and has made plenty of messes with it. Good luck.

I would try Mr. Clean Magic Eraser -- it works really well for hard surfaces. I think Smart and Final or Walgreens even has a cheaper generic version which should work just as well... Good luck!

I've had success with Bar Keepers Friend when Comet has failed.
