I'm so tired of my kids' father whining & demanding that I draw up the papers for him to sign so I told him flat out I'll pay half,no more, of the costs. I need to find a lawyer that handles adoptions, birth parents giving up their rights, step parents adopting the kids, whatever they'd be called. I did a search on nearby family practice ones & sent emails to several of them but haven't heard anything back & its been a month or so. any suggestions?

It is better to go see an attorney to get a response. They probably receive thousands of emails a day. It would be a family law attorney, services will be outlined in the yellow pages and some will see you without a consultation fee. Some you have to pay for being seen...which I dont agree with should you not intend to use that attorney's services.

Wouldn't it just be worth paying for it to have it over with? If it's something you want done, take care of it and get him out of your lives.
