So.... This is why I find myself always wanting to help. The mom that was confused about payment this morning has good reason to be and she could have, maybe should have told me what was going on. She says she had 6 biopsies last Thursday, when I thought she was working, and she's been throwing up all weekend. So now I have the little one here and the other 2 are with a neighbor until the assistant can get them.
Please pray. It doesn't sound good. She has lupus too.
I've had that plug pulled before with a few days to a week still owing. I won't let it go too far if she is playing me. This woman has 3 beautiful boys that need a mother. At this point, I'd rather she be lying. Better to have a mom that's a bit crazy and a user than one that's riddled with cancer. She says she has spots on her liver, kidneys, and pancreas. If I don't get paid by the assistant tomorrow, I'll call and talk to the father of the 2 youngest boys.
I know Dawn, it's true. She's going to have her assistant pay me. She really just thought she had paid ahead. Under normal circumstances, I would be jaded too. But I've known this woman for the last couple of years and I'm not surprised. She's so thin, toooooo thin. I don't have a great feeling about this.
There ya go. So much for thinking you were stupid. God put this person in your path because He knew you weren't stupid. You extend GRACE! Even though it sounds like it is putting you in a pinch financially, it sounds like this woman views you as an angel on earth. I will say prayers for you, her and her family.

Everyone will pray, however, I'm also hoping she's not taking you for a ride. SIX biopsies in one day???? I've had friends recently pass to the dred desease and non ever mentioned have that many biopsies in one day. I fear that your friend may not be telling you the truth. Still, I pray that she isn't. I would be checking up on this person.

To start, you can have six biopsies in one day. I work for a national testing laboratory with tons of pathologists on staff and I see this come through (not every day but it does depending on the location and what they see). What part of the body was it from?? Her skin, liver, stomach, kidneys...?? Many times, patients don't know how many were sent in. Is she hospitalized?
With regard to your business, I think it is great that you try to help but you are not a NON-PROFIT! She needs to pay you and what you are worth, don't low ball yourself! I truly hope she is OK.
I have studied medicine for years and have never heard of any instance where someone needed SIX biopsies in one day.
Side note: we rent. When we moved into this house, the landlord was so relieved to have GOOD people renting, because the previous tenants manipulated him. The mom said her son had cancer or something, so rent was always short because of 'medical treatments'. Come to find out, they're just criminals. Being the person I am with the connections I have, I found her, her kids are healthy, and the land lord got the 6 grand she owed him.
My point is, I think you're being given the run around, and I've babysat for FREE before. I'm not a sucker. I think you're being taken advantage of. If it's 'not looking good', it's because she's playing you like a puppet, going to make you feel sorry for her, and then she's going to pull the plug... and find another sitter without paying you.
