They provide information, contacts, resources, classes ... all kinds of stuff that makes parenting easier. The best part is meeting other families who have the same issues to deal with! My DD doesnt have Autism but we think she might have PDD-NOS. She has an apt in Dec with the Child Study Center. I know how hard it is to have a child that is different and how overwhelming it can be. I have to explain to others that we dont know why she cry's when people laugh or we dont know why she stiffens up and looks down when children approch her.
