I Need Free Transparent Clip Art - Where Do I Download?

I am designing a birthday parting invitation on a photo editing software. I need a free transparent frame from a clip art site. I have already searched everywhere and it seems like all the sites end up charging for the clip art even when it says "free" . The key is that I need it to be transparent so I can overlay it over a picture.

Does anyone know of an actual site? I've tried all the search engines and it seems like all the big sites come up first and they want you to pay for a subscription to their clip art.

I've tried google images and bing images. Any suggestions?

I'm not sure if you're not finding something you like for free or if what you've found isn't transparent. If you're not aware, it's possible to transform clip art to transparent using Microsoft Word (I have an older version, but it's on the picture toolbar as "Set transparent color") by clicking on a white section. I haven't done this with a frame, but I've done it with lots of other google images. Hope this helps~

Kim is right, in Word, add your picture then click on it to select it. Then go to the Picture Tool tab at the top (it should be highlighted in purple if you have the new Office suite). Select Color (to the left) and click on it and go down to Set Transparent Color. After that you'll have a little wand and you can click on a white spot and it will make it disappear. I'm assuming you are trying to delete all the white areas.

I just made invites for my son with Publisher and I was able to send things back and forward and to make some things translucent...maybe try that in the program you are using?

You need files in the .gif format--they have transparent backgrounds--so that's what you need to be looking for when you are searching websites :)
