Hi All,
I'm just feeling really BLAH in the past few days, today I feel kinda weepy. I'm worried about somthings and though I not normally a worrier it's really just BOTHERING me. It's not really one big thing...just a bunch of small. My hubby has been really crabby and inconsiderate in his words, my work is...ugh... just not very enjoyable right now, I've been very busy and the house is a disaster, the kids have NOT been at their best and then of course there is the looming of Christmas.

I don't have much vac time left, and at this point any time off I do have would be for shopping, cleaning or some other thing that needs to be done. I know I need to take a moment and step back, prioritize and get my head back on straight...I just don't know how to do it.

So, what do you do when you feel like me? How do you get your groove back?

What can I do next?

I take a day off of work to get the house in order as much as I can. Rest, and read a good book.

If my house is relatively in order, I am in a better mood. If I am in a better mood, the kids are better..etc.. it is one big cycle..

:) sometimes you need a mommy day.

Sometimes, when I get things done off "my list" then I feel better. Maybe take a day off work to get the house back in order and maybe some online shopping???

Sometimes when I feel like that, I do the following:

-sit down in a quiet part of the house for a few mins away from the tv, noise etc & write a list of what you have to get done. I do this quickly before I get interrupted from my little one.
-go for a walk when your hubby gets home or if the kids are in school.
Exercise always helps to improve my mood.
-Turn on the news. When I see those more unfortunate than I, it gives me
perspective.
-Write down 5 things you are thankful for right now. This helps me focus
on the good in my life.
-call a friend for a 5 min chat
-my hubby's been crabby lately too (a lot on his mind & plate) so I just
give him some room & steer clear for a bit.
-a good cry can help. Just for a few mins then stop, wash your face &
resume your day.
-I put on some happy music that I like.
-sometimes if I'm really bad, I will buy myself a cheap bouquet of flowers
at the grocery store.
-remember Christmas is just another day. Don't make yourself crazy
about it. It does not have to be big or perfect. Just enjoyable.
-get the kids busy or active. Take them to the store or somewhere for a
few mins for a change.
-turn on the comedy channel for a few mins for a laugh. Laughter is good
medicine.
-know that what you are feeling will pass. Eventually the clouds clear and
the sun comes out again.
Best wishes. Hang in there.

Make a list!
Feels great to check off each item.
And, no matter how busy you are, TRY to get some time OFF premise!
That's a sure fire thing for me. It's hard to get your head straight when you're surrounded by "should do" stuff. Even an hour or two works wonders.

Totally agree with the list idea. And then I sometimes assign days to each task. Once I have a plan, I feel much better. You'd be surprised too how much shopping you can whip through online quickly.

Make a list, check it twice... ;) (Sorry, I couldn't resist!)

Seriously though, make a list, prioritize the list, and then do as much as you can on the list. Sometimes, if you have vacation or sick days you can take to do this, that's the best way to go. The kids are in school, you have a little reprieve from work, the mall isn't as crowded, so you can knock out your whole list in a day or two.

Sometimes you just need to hit "reset," and you can't always do that while juggling everything else we juggle as moms. Take the day off and get your stuff sorted out. You will feel better! :)

Welcome to the fabulous Holiday Season! lol When I get overwhelmed with things, I just let the little stuff go. Like I don't stress about the detailed cleaning, just the basics to keep up. Like if you don't dust for 6 weeks, who cares? No one will even notice! I just try to figure out what is the most important and do that first. Say NO a lot if you are asked to do things you can't or don't really WANT to do. Do NOT feel obligated. And pick your battles, don't sweat the small stuff and when you think about it, almost ALL of it is small. =) Good luck!
