Check Craigslist. They have lots of part time postions on there. Or go to a temp agency and they should be able to help you or at least get you a couple of postions so you have some recent experience.
Good Luck!
I have been a stay at home mom for 6 years and i am only 27....so i really dont have a good job history and no one even wants to take the time to look at my applications. I know i will not be able to make a whole lot but i need a part time job, during school hours to help to pay our bills, and no one wants to train me or give me a chance...and i dont really want to flip burgers.... so if any one knows of anything please help me!!!

You may want to try going to school websites and looking on their employment listings. I know they are always looking for secretaries, receptionists, etc. I know they don't pay much (not sure what the rate is), but sometimes once you get in and do a good job, other opportunities open up. I have seen this first hand since I've been a teacher for 9 years. Also, it's great having a job during school hours. BUT the down side would be that you wouldn't get a pay check in the summers. Just a thought.... Good luck!
A., you obviously can type & use a computer... are you proficient in Word & Excel? How far are you willing to drive? I know of some administrative assistant positions that are available. You'll be required to test on Word, Excel, spelling & typing. Let me know if you're interested.
Good luck.
please let me know if you are still looking for a job...I own a business in Crowley (if that is not too far for you). It is a bounce house for kids. I am in need of a manager. We are a family owned and operated business.
I look forward to hearing from you if you might be interested.

I wanted to tell you about what I do. I started selling Avon just before Christmas. I set my own hours and work around the kids and my schedule. BTW - I homeschool my 10 year old, am starting to homeschool my daughter and also keep a little boy for a foster father who needed some help. I used to sell Avon eight years ago, but quit because I also worked a full time job and was a newly single mother with a child who was perpetually sick with ear infections. I also got my cousin started in Avon. She never quit and is now making 6 figures and her income is still growing. That does not even include her personal sales which are around $2000 every campaign (2 weeks). With those type of sales, she earns 50%. That means she keeps $1000 every two weeks. Not bad for part-time work is it? She has also gone on three free cruises through Avon and several other trips. My business is steadily growing as well. I plan to be where she is by the end of this year.
Please don't think that Avon is about door knocking to get customers. That is certainly one way to do it, but we have a much easier method that enables you to reach 1000's of potential customers in just a few short hours. There is also fundraising through Avon that can earn you $1000's (yes, that is plural) in one 2-week campaign.
So how/where would you find your customers? That is so, so very easy. Do you take your children to school each day? How many other families are there in the school? Those are all potential customers. Don't forget about the teachers, office staff, cafeteria and custodial workers as well. Do you ever have to go to the doctor? How boring is it sitting in the waiting room? More potential customers looking for something to read that is not outdated or all medical related. What about church or gymnastics or other sports activities? Even more customers (as well as possible fundraiser opportunities). Do you have friends that work outside the home? Would they be willing to take a couple of brochures to work with them? In addition to that you can also get the brochures out in your immediate neighborhood to find more customers.
Avon no longer has territories so you can sell where ever you want to whom ever you want. Things have changed so much since my mother used to sell Avon many, many years ago. Heck, it has changed a lot since I used to sell 8 years ago. Avon now offers insurance, a savings plan for retirement, discounts with several companies that have partnered with Avon, including, Dell, T-Mobile, Sprint, H&R Block, Staples, and many more.
I'm telling you, it is really so easy. I would love to tell you more about it. Oh! Since you obviously have internet access, you would also be able to make a full 50% earnings (on core Avon products) on your first four campaigns when you submit them online. So if you sell $400 (VERY, VERY easy to do) in your first campaign, you keep $200.
If you think this is something you (or anyone else) would be interested in, please send me a note with your email address so that I can tell you more about it. I would love to see you succeed with it and I, as well as my upline and the District Manager, would be here to help you in every way that we can.
Whether you choose to give Avon a chance or go some other route, I wish you the best of luck and hope you are very successful in your chosen career path.
