I bought the door handle covers you have to squeeze to turn. My then 2-yr-old was constantly escaping from the house and it kept him in. Now, he just turned four and has just learned to turn the handles with the covers on.
I have a 1.5 year old boy who is already opening door knobs, I need to know if anyone has used a toilet seat lock before. Do you think an intelligent 4 year old can open it and still keep a 1.5 year old out? OR does anyone know of a door lock that I can put on the door knob to keep the baby out and still let my daughter in?!?! I can remove everything out of the bathroom so he is safe, but my daughter still will need to go to the potty. HELP!!

I have a toilet lock you can have for free if you want. Still in box, never used. Its just a bar that goes over the seat. The 4 year old can easily move it. If you want it let me know. :) I have been trying to give it away!
most doorknob locks and toilet locks are pretty tricky for some adults (although kids are smarter than us, sometimes!!)--we have to give lessons to our guests!! I would put a hook and eye lock at a height that your 4 year old can reach, but your 1 year old cannot.
Maybe try one of those walk thru gates and show the 4 yr old how it works and the 1.5 yr can at least see them and feel left out. Not sure if it would work, but at least worth a try.
