My grandma lost hers one thanksgiving after she took it off to stuff the turkey. Everyone looked for it, in furniture, under cupboards, even in the trash. We found it a few hours later - in the stuffing!

I lost my HUSBAND'S ring! We were packing up from camping and I was putting my ring on and saw his and was going to take it to him and somehow got sidetracked and forgot I had his in my hand! When he went to put on his ring an hour or so later he couldn't find it and I remembered that I had MEANT to take it to him! oh jeez. I felt SO bad. It is so typical of me, being the one to lose HIS ring because I got distracted. what a dope. We looked all over the ground near our campsite for over a half an hour, his parents helped. right when we were getting ready to give up the campground owner drove his little cart over and offered to help. 5 minutes after he started looking he found it! OH MAN was I relieved! I would never have heard the end of THAT one! I would much rather lose my OWN wedding ring! That reminds me, I always meant to send that guy a thank you note...

Almost lost it, I was throwing the ball for the dog on a cold night and it just flew right off, both rings. Of course it was getting dark too and I was near the woods in our yard. Granted I did find them, but they were about 25 feet away from where I was and took about 30 minutes of searching to find both. My husband was right there and wasn't too worried about if found them or had to have them replaced.

Also lost my college ring, no idea where in the house. Kept searching and after giving up and ordering a replacement one I found the first one when we were moving.

Not quite what you were looking for, but you are not alone.

I lost mine back in May , I took both my rings off to apply hand cream and forgot to put them back on , about an hour later my 4 yr walks over to me with both and gives me the engagement ring and gave my husband the wedding ring , he then gave it back to my daughter and by this point I was rushing out of the house as I was going somewhere , I forgot she had it until later that evening and my husband has no idea what she did with it , she did go out and play in the yard so chances are she took it with her , I have gone around the yard on my hands and knees and turned the house upside down and still have not found it.....now I am hinting at a new one!!

I didn't lose my ring, but I did lose my diamond. I had a super busy day starting at a petting farm, then a picnic at a park, then an evening birthday party at Jungle Java. While sitting watching my kids climb around in the playscape, I noticed how rough my ring felt, looked down, and saw the diamond was missing. I freaked out and shouted for my hubby. Everyone, and I mean everyone, was looking for that diamond. It was 1.25 carats so not tiny but not huge. Kids found everything under the sun inside and under the playscape and came up to me with helpful, hopeful little faces asking, "Is this it?" Of course, we didn't find it. For all I know a goat at the petting farm ate it.

Well, found out that it was under-appraised since the last time it was valued was when it was purchased in 1998. I lost it around 2006. Wouldn't you know it, there was a historically large, unprecedented rise in diamond values during that time so it had increased by about $6k. Unfortunately, insurance only paid for the appraisal amount.

I ended up with a larger diamond but lesser quality. Which is fine. Hubby went a little extreme on the value on the first one. It was nearly flawless. But nobody could tell without a map anyway, so this one is just as nice to me. It sparkles just as pretty! (but I hope that goat felt that diamond go through. lol...just kidding. I'm not really mean!)

On our 1st year anniversary we went to Florida and were standing in the surf talking and decided to go into the water. My husbands ring was a little loose, so he took it off, and handed it to me to hold while he unclasped his necklace to put the ring on it, so 'he wouldn't lose it'. ;( Well a huge wave came, I lost my balance and dropped his ring. It was gone in like an instant! Just disappeared into the rolling sand! I felt sick to my stomach for days! But, we got him a new one- not quite as nice as the lost one, and hopefully someone found it that really needed the money and was able to somehow make their life better. In reality tho, it is probably in the bottom of the ocean somewhere.
