I just started taking phentermine for weight loss 4 days ago and I don't feel like it is curving my appetite at all. I just started my period but haven't found any evidence that that can effect it. Have any of you ladies experienced this problem?

What can I do next?

I respond to phentermine just like B, no cravings, not really hungry, just don't really think about food. I seem to think about food A Lot and when taking phen. I don't think about it at all, in fact I can get to about 4:00 in the afternoon and think "hey, did I eat lunch??".

Give it a couple more days.

When I take it I notice a drop in appetite within a few days.
I don't get the cravings for anything and I can just forget about snacking.
Drink plenty of water.

I took Phentermine a number of years back, in the hope it would help "kick-start" some weight loss.

I had no weight loss, but I did have a boost of energy. It acted more like a dose of speed for me, which given the fatigue from my Fibromyalgia, was a welcome side effect!

After a year or so, my doctor discontinued my use, as it is linked to some cardiac issues, & we figured for long-term, better safe than sorry.

Keep in mind, if it works as an appetite suppressant, you'll need to have a strong plan in place before discontinuing it, so that you don't overeat & gain any weight back. Definitely make plans to be successful! :)

oh, i'm so envious! i took phen-fen back in the day, and the fat just melted away. but my current doctor doesn't believe in help for weight loss (just lots of pills for all the problems that arise from too much fat, grrrr grrrrr) so no px for me.
no clue how phentermine works by itself, but phen-fen just allowed me to take or leave food. i could still eat and enjoy a meal, but inbetween i wasn't thinking about food and sneaking and snacking. it was awesome. someone would bring a big box of frosted doughnuts to the barn and leave them in the tack room and i could shrug and walk away from them with no internal dilemma.
it didn't actually make me less HUNGRY per se, but hunger was never really the issue. it was able to curB my incessant desire to fill myself up all the time.
i hope it works for you! in certain cases it's appropriate to pair with prozac. if you get no results at all, maybe discuss that option with your doctor?

It can take some time to start curbing your appetite. What did your doctor tell you to expect?
