I Forgot to Put Sugar in My Zucchini Bread!

I wanted to make this to take to my sons preschools for snack time. Never made it before. I ended up trying to put it together while I was making dinner, then I had to put my 9month old daughter to bed, then I put dry/wet ingredients together and put it in the oven, then got my son ready for bed while it was in oven. When took it out, it didn't look as brown as it should and tasted a bit bland. And when I thought about what I did wrong, I realized I overlooked the sugar. I had so much stuff sitting on the counter while. I was doing this (not to mention wasn't focused on what I was doing). Luckily it has chocolate chips in it, so it's not horrible, but not something I can ooh-ah about. Imso disappointed. So now it's almost sugarless chocolate chip zucchini bread. /:(
What did you mess up on that you put alot of effort in making/doing? I need a pick me up to distract me from my mistake. As long as I can get my son to eat this stuff, all is not lost, but I don't think this will be making it to preschool for a snack.

What can I do next?

So What Happened?

Thank you!!! When you hear other people's flubs, it makes mine feel not so bad. I think I will try an icing on it. Luckily the chocolate chips in it help it taste a little better.... And there is a whole bag in it. Maybe I do icing overload!! And make it super sweet too. What a good idea!

When you slice it, drizzle honey on it before you eat it. We experimented because a similar thing happened to us I think it wa s a bread too, can't remember what exactly. The honey worked, not perfect but good!

I realize this response is a bit late & it's probably gone by now but try some apple butter or pumpkin butter as a spread on it. You can also try a flavored cream cheese. My kids prefer the honey/nut flavor.

My Aunt is always the one to make pumpkin pie for Thanksgiving; it's my favorite and I wouldn't miss it for the world. It's now tradition that I get the first slice, I'm so obsessed with it. A few years ago, she cut me this huge piece and handed it to me... took a big bite... OMG IT WAS TERRIBLE!! I thought it was a joke!!... She got very upset, took a bite... STILL AWFUL!!... she forgot the sugar ;) 3 pies, in the trash... we went to Bob Evans and got some pies :)

I'm notorious for burning those pre-cut cookies, the kind you just stick in the oven... I mean, how hard is that?! I mess it up every time! My oven has a mind of it's own...

oh god, its more like what DIDNT I mess up... I once wanted to make an angel cake for my husband who never had it. I did something obviously wrong, think it was mixing it in a metal bowl or something. I baked it and it literally came out like a BRICK. It was I think 2 or 3 lbs of rock hard cake, NOT AT all what angel food was suppose to be. While I was be-moaning my creation, and looking at what I did wrong, my husband comes in and takes a big bite out of the sample I cut off. I know it was horrible but he was trying to be sweet and supportive and he ate it but I think he regretted that bite!!!

Everybody flubs once in a while.
At least you just forgot the sugar and didn't add that amount of salt instead.
I keep things in marked tubs to keep them fresh and my daughter used baking soda instead of flour once.
One word: INEDIBLE.

Look at it this way, I bet you'll never forget to put sugar in the zucchini bread again.

Chin up!

Just last month I had to make cupcakes for work. I was so proud of myself because I got the first ones in the oven at a decent time so I wasn't worried about having to stay up all night to finish them. Unfortunately, when I took them out of the oven they had all spilled over and caved in. At first, I couldn't figure out what I had done wrong. Unfortunately, I had to run out to the store at 9:45 p.m. because I didn't have enough ingredients to make another batch. When I got back home and started mixing up my second batch I noticed that there were more eggs in the carton than there should have been. Apparently, I got distracted and did not use all the eggs that the recipe called for the first time. The second batch turned out great, but I was up most of the night baking, decorating and doing dishes.

I have never done this type of thing before, I am more of a pull it out of the oven and immediately drop the entire thing onto the open oven door and the floor.. But only when it is VERY important item for a VERY important meal..

I "need to learn to slow down". I hate when people tell me this, even though I know it is true.

Well, I think I forgot to put salt in some waffles I made a couple weeks ago. I also made a cake for my daughters birthday and it totally fell apart, I had to kind of put it together and put the icing on top but, man, did it taste good!!!

Anyway, would make a glaze with powdered sugar and some kind of liquid (milk, orange juice etc.) and drizzle it over your bread.

LOL When I was a kid making play-doh, it said 3/4 cup of salt and I thought it meant 3 or 4 cups of salt. Thankfully, we didn't eat the play-doh. I know there are more things that I've goofed up but I've chosen to block them out of my memory...LOL

Ha! One of my best friends hired me to make a cake for her daughters birthday. I was all done, it was beautiful! I was on the phone w/her telling her I was ready to bring it over, and it fell on the floor! I don't think I have ever cried so hard! I am a baker, and this was when I was just starting out. Ugh! Don't feel bad! Hope your son will eat your bread! LOL!

Not that I put a lot of effort into it, but I forgot the sugar in a pitcher of Kool-Aid once! It took me forever to figure out why it tasted so awful!

Did you know that if you dont put flour in a peach pie it comes out like water and peaches in a soggy crust and no one wants to eat it? lol

My grandma has this recipe for these little cupcake size mud pies. They are basically pie crust, choc chips and then a brown sugar topping...they are so good. You can add walnuts too...but its like a chocolate pastry.

Anyway, I was making a double batch and somehow I added WAY too much salt, unfortunately....I couldn't salvage them and haven't gotten the muster to make them again. Time consuming when you make your own pie crust. :)
